My Car Is Falling Apart

My 00' GT is on it's last leg I'm afraid. I just had to fix both rear axle seals, and for some reason it has started burning up all the oil in the engine. Also now when I accelerate, I hear a sound as if something is really straining under the hood. I so far have added a diablo sport chip, which messed up my stock computer and wouldnt allow me to start the car. I added Hi Flow Cats, CAI, .373 Gears, had the car lowered, and 18" Rims. I don't what to do with this car anymore.

Suggestions?

Sell it before anything else happens to it!

Then look for a four valve for around 25,000 to 30,000

Of course if you don't want to spend that much money you could just look for a cheap foxbody car and save your money for a new engine and drivetrain setup.

your high flow cats are probably causing the blow by which is an easy fix.
and did you tune the car for them?
that could be the issue.
another reason could be the tune didn't set properly. did you pull your fan and oil pump fuse before tuning it?

I had all those things installed by a racing shop. I didn't actually do any of the work myself. I think originally everything was tuned correctly but, like i said the chip malfunctioned and wouldn't let me start the car so I took it out. I guess I need to get it put back in.

I think DIABLO is your problem...

Go with SCT...

You are not the first that I have heard problems out of the Diablo products from...

Get a good tune with the SCT and you will much happier...Or just buy and SCT XCAL 2 and have them tune with that...

Thanks to google, I know what SCT XCAL 2 is (diagnostic computer)? Wish I knew what I was doing. I'll have to look into getting that chip fixed and look into the one you mentioned.

SCT XCAL 2 is a flash tuner...

They can tune your car without having to use a chip...

I think you should look into it...

the diable and sct do the same exact thing its just whichever you choose or whichever one your tuner uses. as for the high flow cats causing blow by? explain that to me please. ive always been under the impression that blow by is caused by the piston rings failing or giving out.

I am going to be selling my Predator and going with the xcal due to my tuner only using that tuning software. For an off the shelf tuner, the Predator is not bad. It lets you change alot of parameters.

ok. no problem:

in a nut shell when you have high flow cats
(TUNE FOR THEM!!!)
it takes longer for them heat up so your 02 sensors compensate by adding fuel (like when you first start your car and your rpms are a tad high)
when you run rich for enough of a time eventually you will get blow by.
and yes you are correct about the piston rings. when you run rich for too long of a time it causes them to give out.

haha, sorry no. Not to mention I don't have the stock gears anymore, and that it took a mechanic, 4-5 hours to remove them to do the axle seals

yeah diablosport is your problem for one, i have one on my car, can't get it tuned cause the chip i have now works but when my tuner tried 3 different diablo chips on my car with a better tune my car died about 5 minutes later, my mechanic thru a sct chip on there with a base tune, not even for my cams and stuff and it ran for an hour before i shut it off with no problems.

i had hi flo cats for a good long while before i got my tune....they i went off road and still had no tune....i also had no problems either...i asked about tuning for high flow cats and the guys at RWTD said it that i really dont need to tune for em since the tuner shuts off the o2's...i dont think that the hi-flos are the problem.....how many miles are on the car....what kind of oil is in it....what kind of gas do you use....was it abused before you bought it....do you abuse it....there are way more things that need to be assessed before we say that the hi-flos are the problem...

BTW i bet you anything that if your using a chip as oppose to a flash tuner...and especially if its by diablosport, jet, or hypertech...then thats the problem. SCTxCal II...the best tuner on the market...getcha one!

90k miles, bought it at 20k. I abuse it sometimes, I thought that's the fun of it though. Regular oil, no synthetics. Whatever the stock oil reccomendations are is what i've been using.
