Time For A New Motor?

My engine is at 90k miles, eating lots of oil, and making funny noises. I'm thinking that an engine replacement is in the near future. Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of what new engines would fit, and some pricing with those options. More HP the better.

i would actually suggest livernise motorsports. they make some badass stuff. or you can just rebuild the one youve got have it bored a little to clean it up and then you have ltos of differnet options as to strokers or stock displacemnt. there are many options that you have. you cane even change to a 4v engine if ya wanted to (cobra engine). any way there are lots of things you can do. what kind of money are you willing to spend and what kinda horsepower are you wanting to make?

I really don't know how to describe it or I would have been more descriptive. Sorry I'm no mechanic. It's kind of like a rattling.

I like the ideas of rebuilds with boring, and the cobra motor. I really don't know what this would run me though I probably wouldn't want to pay much more than 3-5k

checked out VT Engines looks cool, why can't they make engines cheaper.
I looked for livernise motorsports, no luck. about to check out steen. thanks for the direction.

EDIT

Livernois.

It's exciting and itimidating. Everything on there is expensive, and I not having alot of knowledge about these things, wouldnt know what to pick, what would work well, what would require alot of change overs all around the car, etc. I would like to probably at least get over 300 rwhp. 245 is getting old.

well for that kinda money your best bet is to just have yours rebuilt with stronger rods and pistons. youll be around that kind of money, or you could just buy a used engine, from a wrecked stang or a stock crate engine from ford.your not gonan find one of these engine builders with a crate engine for the kind of money your looking at spending. the quality that goes into those shortblocks are why they cost that much money. they are built well and not just thrown togethr lots of quality in them

I guess a rebuild would be my best bet considering it is my daily driver so I can't wait to save up enough for something killer, because i'd need the car to work now. hmm. What's the range of something like I would be looking for? Wanna know how much I gotta hide from the Mrs.

its gonna cost close to 2500-3 grand for the rebuild youll need to have the block bored a little to clean it up and get the right pistons to match the bore and some nice forger rods, and youd be set to go. im not for sure exactly what it would cost for everything but youd need to tlak to some shops around your areat o find out
