Question

"New" tranny and clutch in...

Well I got the "new" tranny and clutch in, but every now and then it will grind going into third, but not all the time. If I stay on the clutch and let the RPM's drop past like 1,500 it won't do it. But occasionally it will go in there without grinding. So I think maybe the 3rd gear stop needs adjusting on the shifter, but what do you all think?

P.S.: King Cobra feels good and no mufflers... didn't feel like puttin em on

either your clutch is not fully diss engauging or your new tranny isn't as new as you thought it was

adjusting his stopper on his shifter is not going to void a warrenty

i have never seen a aftermarket shifter come with a cobra tranny. he is just adjusting the bolt on the stopper even though that is not causing the grinding anyways. If it was popping out of gear than it could be the shifter but more than likely either its his clutch not fully dissengauging or the tranny synchro's are shot, or he already cracked his shift fork

i thought he got the T45 and i missed where he had the tri ax... My bad on the shifter...

you dont htink the company may try to say that he blew it out from the use of an aftermarket shifter thus voiding warrenty do you?

i hope he does. I mean that tranny might last him another 50k miles before any problems who knows. Just mine lasted 5 track passes and i broke it after getting rebuilt so thats when i decided that i am very hard on trannys to just get it built right.

Well this was mybad, all it was, was that the shifter needed adjusting. I got ready to pull the tranny back out today but I figured I would try to adjust it first so I did. Then I test drove it and every thing worked fine. They did give me a little card that had to be done to it in order for the warrenty to work just say stuff to replace tob, pilot bearing, clutch, seals blha blha blha. The transmission did come with a new shifter but I put the tri-ax in it. And I do have the old one and I probably will rebuild it with promotion parts now that I now about it... Thanks for the help everyone
