What is wrong with your engine that you believe a can full of goop will fix?

OK. 125k miles...

What problem do you have that you believe might be fixed by adding a can of goop to your oil?

Are you using oil? Does blue smoke come out of your tail pipe? Do you have low compression? What problem are you trying to solve?

With today's oils mileage doesn't mean anything on a car that has been taken car of. I remember adding STP to cars because they used a quart every 1000 miles. Most cars today don't even use a quart every 5000 miles. (By the way, you did not want to take apart that motor later. It had gunk everywhere.)

It only "works" on engines that 10k to 15k miles away from dying anyway, it may buy you another 10k miles...

Do NOT use it in an engine that is not exhibiting the issues described by Eagle2000GT, it can do a great deal more harm than good by clogging up oil passes and other tight spots in the oil galleries.

It wont hurt it as long as you have maintained the engine good. Because if not, you probably dont wanna flush out the sludge holding it together.

actually I believe it does work, back in 99 i bought a firebird with 88 k miles on it, it had a few bad bearings in it so i replaced them with the crank and then started using the synthetic oil with a can of engine restore evey oil change and over a hundred thousand miles later the car still ran better than it did after the bearing/cam swap with no oil burning or any lost compression at all. it had 193k miles on it and ran better than new, and i always noticed it seemed to have a bit more power to it when i added the engine restore in it. on the other hand that was a gm 305 tbi engine, and we all have 4.6 mod motors wich pretty much seem to go forever if taken care of anyways.
