i cant get my check light engine off

either reset your computer by unhooking for battary for 45 minutes or so, or fix the damn problem that is causing the check engine light

what did u do to make it come on,any upgrades recently?exhaust,02 sensor ,cai..maybe a bad sensor.is it throwing any codes.....u can take it to ur local advance auto store an have it checked for free an they can reset it but it may come back on...if its throwing a code we can help u more

You should get the codes read so you know why its on before you try and turn it off.

a little more information would help, but i'll try to work with what you gave us: turn off the car, remove the key and walk away. betcha the light goes off...

+1 works everytime for me. It started to work right when I turned the car off.

Take your car to advanced auto or some other parts store and have them read the code. Then tell us what it is. There is no way at all to take a shot in the dark at what sensor or problem you are having without knowing the code.
