Header Gasket Problem
Ok. Well i have a pretty bad leak on the drivers side header gasket. I put lt's in and used the paper gaskets they provided... bad idea hahaha.
Is there any easy way to change the gaskets out? I really dont want to spend another weekend on my car, dropping the k, and lowering the engine. Is there any other way to just change the gaskets? I figured that i'd just change both sides since i'll be in there. I'm looking at either frpp or percy copper gaskets

if you can reach the bolts without having to pull all that shit back out, just unbolt the header, slide the gasket out, slide the new one in, and bolt everything back up. that's if you can get the bolts out without pulling everything back out...

well derrick (8t6gt) is gonna bring his engine hoist down from michigan and we're just gonna raise the engine a couple of '', instead of taking the k member back out and dropping the engine... thats not really safe anyways.
We're just gonna unbolt the headers from the mid, then unbolt the engine from the mounts on the K, and raise her up a couple of ''... is that possible guys?

i don't see why it wouldn't be possible. are you pulling the tranny too, or are you gonna drop it first? i would unbolt the tranny first personally...

It might be easier to support the engine with the hoist and just lower the K, not take it out but just loosen bolts and lower it some. Obviously there is a little more to it than that but you know what I mean. thats how we got to mine. Combination of raising the motor a bit and lowering the k a bit. Was able to get to the bolts easily thru the fender well.

If you do it like I said it realy won't be too bad. Did you leave the studs in or use the bolts?
