thats is my real question --are these windsor made motors- reliable with all the usuall bolt ons-etc -i'm hearin from different people that the windsor made heads are crap- and only when ford moved bac to romeo 01 to current-these are the good gt motors--

why are you reving your 2v to 7000k???? thats your problem right "thurr" oh btw, romeo motor or not, unless your going all out crazy either one will do you just fine... them saying the older motors are crap is really just opinion based... both are fine motors

that's because smaller engines rev higher...you don't want to keep your 4.6 at 7k, even if you get a cobra motor...a big ass 454 or something won't rev out as high as the modular motors...my rx7 13b redlined at 8.5...this v8 doesn't go that high...but it doesn't need to...lrn2drive v8.

stop making power before 6k anyways. Unless you have cams and head work done.

big engine = lower revs
small engine = less hp and A LOT less tq

if you've driven the car for any amount of time, you can feel when it stops making power, that's when you learn where the car performs best in the power band...

There is not a dam difference performance wise. The windsor heads are crap because the spark plug holes do not have enough threads in them and they will strip out.

I'm gonna go ahead and say you've missed the entire point of this thread...you're saying that because a 427 can't hold the revs of a b18 Honda engine, it's not worth the time...even though it would hand the Honda it's ass 4 times over...suit yourself man...

fak em, he wants a honda so he can rev to 8k and still be slower than a v8 that runs outa revs at 5800... hes just one of those ppl that think the higher your car revs the faster it is... as far as im concerned he can be that way... ill just look at him through my rear view shiftin at 5500 =)
and btw your car should technically pull hardest in 1st, then gradually less as you go through them

speaking of revs and whatnot...this guy at the track tonight had this shitty torn to fuck old Ford Falcon with some kinda turbo diesel engine in it...weirdest sound ever...was probably not revving over 4k, but was running mid 7's on the 1/8th. I thought it was pretty creative to build up an old turbo diesel and put it in a gutted car like that...
