opal, youve got your stuff wrong. the patriot heads were not good when they first came out, but now have resolved there problems. i know if several people who are runnign them with absolutly no problems. vt, shm, and the others are not without screwups also. they have all had some problems. patriot is a great head especially for the money. i personally run vt stage 2 but if i was on a budget, i would have picked up a set of [atriots no problem. you just got mixed up. like you said go read around and that is the general consensus on what happened

drgnrcin72 I hear ya on the resolved valve issues but I personally would still opt for a better head. VT and MPH are without question of better quality. When it comes to putin together a combo the heads are the last place you want to be cheap on, and thats what i consider the patriot kinda like the gt40p for 5.0s. Do you see where Im coming from. BTW I know mjkids and he is by far not looking for a budget head. His car is a show car and everything I have seen done to that car has been topnotch.

ive heard to many bad things about steen for me to go and use them. i understand wat your saying, i was just pointing out that they have cured their problems that they had at the beggining. they are a great head for someone whos looking to make power on a budget. i also wasnt on a budget and wanted the best so therefor i went with the vt stuff but if i was on a budget, i would have gone for the patriot heads no problem.

cool thanks for the help thats why i joined this site what do you think about keeping the p1 heads and going with intake manfold accufad combo and vt cams it is a drop top so i would be happy with 350 to 400 hp to the rear wheels and i am look for a good deal on a hard top that can be my race car i just want the drop top to get out of its own way and i would like it to be my show car

well your gonna have to do something to the heads to make that kind of power. your gonna need atleast a stage 2 heaad and cam. im guessing your wanting it streetable to so i say go with stage 2 accrss he board. stage 3 sounds awsome but arent really streetable. they are pretty rev happy. i say do the heads, cams, full exhaust, and the intake mods (new intake manifold isnt nessecary) and maybe a small shot of nitrous like 50 shot or something liek that. your not gonna hurt anything with 5 shot and youll be close to your 350-400 ho goals

keep the stock intake onver that p51 youll lose to juch on the bottoom to make up for the little bit youll make on the top. the best bet is to use the stock one untill you can get a bullitt or that trickflow intake

Yeah I would stay away from the "Starship Enterprise Intake" aka the P51...Its not really good for bolt-on/stock N/A cars...
