Ignition Cylinder Removal

Alright. So I went to get my haircut, came back out. tried to start my car but the key wouldn't go in. I gave it a little nudge in. Now the key wont turn at all. I believe i broke some of the teeth.

I read the haynes manual. Did a little online searching but came up with nothing to address if i can't get it out of the position it is in. I know with our cars you dont have to remove the steering wheel or anything like that but i jsut was curious as so how i would get the cylinder out if i couldn't get it into the run position. Anyone have any thoughts?

This sucks. I'm not sure if it's frozen or what. I couldn't put some graphite crap in there to free it up or something like that could i? anyone have any ideas?

I've never experienced this on my Mustang, but I've had cars where you sometimes couldn't turn the key. I had to turn the steering wheel and bump it against the steering wheel lock to get the key to turn.

did ya check to make sure your shifter in in the correct position? My 01 auto did that a few times til I figured out my shifter was forward just a bit to much to let me do anything with the lock cylinder, even though yours is a 5-speed I guess thatwouldnt be the same, but maybe a clutch safety switch or something could gone out

Alright. I've got the cylinder in. Before i put the cylinder in i could start it with a screwdriver...i've got the key in run and now it wont' come back out. The PATS System is preventing it from running.

Anyone know of any other way to disable pats besides a tune. If i can fix it by just doing the pat's delete with the tune then i'll wire in a security system later. Any help is much appreciated. I'm e-mailing joe at tricktunes right now

yup. and my rader goes in and out. The radio doens't kick on. no power and as soon as the door opens it blinks fast. lights dont turn on. It's like it's dead, and yes, i checked the battery. it's still good.

I have the worst luck. This sucks.
