minor hood pin question

SO i did the search of hood pins. But didnt notice anyone say how well they last with repeated use. B/c of where i work, I have to open my hood daily for inspections. We all know that dreaded slam HAS to take place and even then i cant get it to latch till after a few times. 1) thats embarassing 2) its making my latch support weak causing it to bend down and i have to bend it back up prior to closing.
Would hood pins last with daily use? Or do they get jacked up easily? Thanks for any help.

wut the hell do you do that u need ur engine inspected everyday?

he probably works in a controlled area.i know at some bases contractors have to get there car inspected before entering.

Yes... They will last becasue you don't slam the hood you just set it down and put the pin in. Might want to check to make sure they are tight every couple of months but there's no reason why they shouldn't last forever. Just be prepared to drill your hood, you only have one shot. I'd pay someone to do it.

Also, once the pins are in you can delete the latch completely. At least that's what I did.

Had mine only a short time but dont have any worrys about them not holding up.

Thanks for the info, I really like the look so i guess i win with function and looks. Drilling holes in the hood.........any of you guys pass out from holding your breath right before you touched the hood...lol...

ya, once i get the hood pins i will take the latch off completly if its not needed.
