Engine Blew: Part II

Yall were right. I got the hood up finally and the manifold has holes blown in it, the hood liner is ripped up and every peice of tubing that was connected to the engine is broken off (emissions crap and cai). There's also a mess of wires that I dont even want to think about. If you didn't hear the story here it is: Engine Blew...

Looks like you need a cowl panel, prolly some work with the hood (does it still latch and such?), intake and some time and you should be good...

What's a cowl panel? The 2 brackets that the hood are connected to are bent. I'm looking at getting an aftermarket manifold, any suggestions? All the emissions crap that got blown off is what i'm worried about. I have no idea what that costs.

So you need the brackets...

The cowl panel is the panel between the hood and the windshield...Its broken bad in that picture...

I have the bullitt intake manifold...But they are pricey and tough to find at time...The TrickFlow manifold seems to be a good swap...And I think you have to change the EGR JUNK (The emmisions crap) anyways so your halfway there...

Any pictures from under the hood?

I was going to take pictures but you can't see anything. Basically, if it's on the intake side its off. How is that typhoon intake?

So what would you get? I have a BBK plenum so i would need something to fit that. The trickflow didn't look compatable.

The trickflow is a full replacement...

Truthfully I would go back with the plastic lower and drop the shot down to a 100 shot...

If not that then I would find a bullitt or buy a trickflow intake...

I'm already at a 100 shot. Is the bullitt aluminum? How is it compared to the stock and aftermarket?

Im not really sure exactly what it is made out of...It is metal...I have one and I just happened to stumble upon it...Its not so easy to find...

The stock is the best intake that I know of...The bullitt is a great intake but on a N/A engine its only good for like 5hp and cosrs around a grand for it...It gives more power on boosted cars...

I would go stock or trickflow...If you dont mind dropping a grand then get a bullitt...

Thats just the lower intake...

You also need:

Throttle Cable 1R3Z-9A758-BA
Throttle Control Bracket 1R3Z-9728-BA
Alternator Bracket 2R3Z-10153-AA
Intake Gaskets (2) YL3Z-9439-BA
Throttle Body/ gasket- Bullitt or 96-98 Cobra 2R3Z-9E926-AB. Gasket part #, F7LZ-9E936-AA
Cruise Control Cable 1R3Z-9A825-DA (Optional)
"L" Bracket 2R3Z-9J444-AA
EGR Tube 1R3Z-9D477-CA
Spacer Gasket 2R3Z-9E930-AA (Goes between the lower manifold and the upper plenum. It should already come with this)
T-Stat Housing 1W7Z-8592-AA
Under intake hose 1R3Z-8260-DA (I used heater hose)
Crankcase Vent Tube 1R3Z-6C324-AA (Tube going from drivers side valve cover to inlet tube. I used heater hose for this too.)
Alternator
Bullitt fuel rails
4g to 6g plug from paperformance for new alt. or wire it up yourself. The plug is only ~$36 shipped
Inlet Tube (You can buy a new one or make your own)
Valve covers with oil fill on drivers side (You can make a new inlet tube to fit around the pass. side oil fill)

Which ends up being over a grand...

This is the parts at ford prices (employee price)
Throttle Cable 1R3Z-9A758-BA 26.71
Throttle Control Bracket 1R3Z-9728-BA 18.54
Alternator Bracket 2R3Z-10153-AA 14.80
Gasket part #, F7LZ-9E936-AA 5.35
Cruise Control Cable 1R3Z-9A825-DA (Optional)29.88
EGR Tube 1R3Z-9D477-CA 57.97
Spacer Gasket 2R3Z-9E930-AA . 48.71
T-Stat Housing 1W7Z-8592-AA 19.51
Under intake hose 1R3Z-8260-DA 13.46
Crankcase Vent Tube 1R3Z-6C324-AA 30.75
Alternator 227.64
Bullitt fuel rails 250.56
4g to 6g plug from paperformance for new alt. or wire it up yourself. The plug is only ~$36 shipped

Im going to get a used cobra alt and use some aftermarket fuel rails...But the small pieces that you need to be able to use the bullitt intake is what is actually the most expensive...

I don't need anything as nice as the bullitt, I just don't want to go back to the plastic stock timebomb.

Yeah its far from cheap to go with the bullitt...

I would look into the trickflow bro...But then again the metal lower that I have heard the most good about has been the hardballr...
