Tuners

I'm new to the Stang world as well as the Tuner stuff. I wondered what the difference in the Xcal2 and Xcal3. I'm not into computers, but I'm also not stupid. Also, are the programed tunes doable since I don't have a dyno tuner close. Wasn't sure I needed a tuner, but I changed gears and hate to wast money for a speed cal.

I do not know the full list of differences in the 2 tuners. The 3 has more features and is newer than the 2. Either should work fine for you. You have 2 options for the tune. Get one that will do data logging and tune based on that. or, tell them what mods you have when you order and they will give you a canned tune based on that.

tricktuners.com can hook you up with a datalog tune... thats the route im taking, they use the xcal 2 or 3 i think the main diff. between the two is that the xcal 3 has more memory and they look diff. of course.

If you dont have a laptop then get the x3, it can datalog without a laptop, the other ones cant hold datalog info for more than a few seconds i think.

you should be able to do it with a desktop.

get the xcal3. go with trick tuners. he will tune based on what you have. data log all the info on the tuner and he should adjust and email the tune to you. you then plug it in to the computer, download the tune, then stick in the car and upload the tune.

Thanks everyone. I was checking the Xcal3 out @ tricktuners. So I order, give them all the mods and they set a tune. Load it and run. Datalog, send to tricktuners and they modify and resend. Upload to the Xcal then download to my car.
Will I get multiple tunes for 87 octane, NOS, etc....or are they extra?
