Tried both of those methods a few times and the little seat belt light did exactly what you guys said it would.....but I still get the chime the next time I turn the key on without the belt buckled.

Finally there is a quick, easy solution to these **** seat belt alarms! Go to

I don't understand why you guys don't just unplug the connector (its under the seat). It takes 2 seconds and works great.

Or, instead of buying your $20 product, a free fix, by the experts here.

I installed racing seats/5 pt. harnesses on my 06 GT and the chime stopped when I unplugged the stock seats for the swap. The seatbelt unbuckled Icon will still show on the dash but I dont care about that.

To disable the seat belt unfastened chime (Beltminder) in the 2005-2009 it's different.

- Turn car "on" (far as it goes before starting engine).
- Wait for the "fasten seatbelt" light to turn off (about 1 minute).
- Within 50 seconds: Buckle and unbuckle 9 times ending unbuckled.
- The "front airbag" light will light for a few seconds.
- After "front airbag" light turns off: buckle and unbuckle 1 time.
- The "front airbag" will blink a lot signaling it's been either deactivated or deactivated.

* Both driver and passenger sears must be done separately.
* If the seat you are not working on is buckled it will not work.

I know this is an old post but I just now read it because I googled how to turn the chime off and I got this forum. I'm curious to know how to reactivate it in case I would fall and bump my head and want to reactivate it again...lol

Do the same thing. It basically toggles between it being activated or deactivated.

Is there a way to get the dinging to go off when the door is open and the key is in, like when cleaning the car or something?
edit: oh and i tried the directions to turn it off and it just came back the next time i started the car up. Did i do it wrong?
