stuck
i am at a point i dont know what i want to do. i planned on installing doc's rods and pistons in my car since they werent going to be used. my machinist advised against it after we took a look at the pistons, so naturally things change and i am confused again.
now my choices are: 1) headwork, fuel pump, and up the nitrous 2) buy a flywheel and driveshaft 3) buy front bumper, install side scoops, rear bumper, and side skirts and get all painted 4) buy a front bumper and hood, and wait to paint to a later date 5) new wheels 6) buy shocks, struts, d/s rotors and new pads 7) buy skinny wheels and tires for the strip 8) return to stock and trade for cts-v 9) pay off mustang and put all money in my chevy short wide and get my 1980 trans am home and start that project i am tired of the ugly rear bumper and have most the new body parts in the attic, but also tired of fords. most of you guys know i am a gm person but if i trade it i think my wife will hold it against me forever. we are about to start assembling doc's motor if we ever get time. if i work on anything it will be after we get his done and broke in. i dont want to do cams yet, i need valve reliefs for the ones i have set in mind. i will do them when/if i build.

JMO....Get the mustang going how she wants it motor and look wise...and finish up paying it off Hand it over to her and you can start up your trans-am. shes got her car you got yours.

the agreement was: for her to have the mustang, it has to be the way i see fit. i personally still hate the car, and trying to figure out how to set if up to where i can try to tolerate it.

i say pay it off and hand it over to her as well.....
dont bother returning to stock/selling... i just lost my ass off doing that with mine. there just isnt a market for them right now. i suppose people think why buy a GT when you can buy a gas saving maxima and run about the same times hahaha

you can always be like the guy around here his name is "half-bread" hes got a fox body ford with a chevy motor in it. Then you both got the best of both worlds shes got the mustang look you have the chevy power

thought about an ls1 swap, but i have too much $$$ in my trans to let it go. the car will leave if it says the way it is, so if she want to keep it it will get more done.

Damn, thats a hell of a lot of choices! I guess it depends on what she wants. I would pay it off though. thats number 1 in my book. If she wants the motor then go that route, if she wants the look, then go that route. dont know what else to say!

she dont mind what gets done, as long as its fast and looks good again. she is a mustang fanatic, and probably always will be. we dont owe much on it at all, thats the only reason we hesitate to trade or sell it. with it getting close to being paid off, there will be a little more that can be done. i have these choices and that is why i am stuck. not to mention she wants it to be as fast of faster than doc's mach after we get to a finishing point on both cars.

I say, get the body stuff done so it will look good and then plan from there. Its har to be planning so many things at once. Its a long list of things that can be done. Get the car all nice and if theres time and money for something else then do it

the car isnt really worth that much to me, i debated just parting it out completely since i hate it so much. then again i would never hear the end of it. i think the looks would be nice, but it doesnt have enought to back it up (personal opinoin).

because i do all my own work, everything down to even some of the machining. i am the type to build a car. i am very picky on cars, not as much on my trucks tho.

Pay the thing off, then get it looking how you want, and then add whatever performance you want or get your new car. The car is already fast and if it is going to end up being hers it will still beat a majority of cars on the street. You can then concentrate on the Trans Am and she still gets a good looking car that is quick.

i already have 4 vehicles, i really dont want anymore. if we keep the mustang thats probably going to be it, maybe a little car for road trips but nothing much.

Those are some tough choices, I would finish up the boltons, and then you the fuesl system, then head work & cams, then get the bumpers, then get new wheels. IMHO

Enough what to back it up? Power? Like Mach Boy said, it already beats a majority of the cars on the street. IMHO I say go with looks, whatever is missing get it to complete the look you want of she wants. With whatever is left see how much you can pay off or up the nitrous.

the car is competitive with a few, but still getting walked on the top end by just about everything. i have the new rear bumper, skirts, and scoops already. i just dont really care for the way the bottom side of the front bumper is, and i am trying to think of what i want to replace it with.
