pound it out if it is a press in , or drill it out and use a nut and bolt, i stipped the threads on one of mine and had to use a nut and bolt it worked out ok just a pain in the ass to take it off and place it back on

go to ford and buy another one. they are kinda expensive though. Mine was Cross treaded and stripped. its was a pain in the ass. I couldnt even get the stud out without taking the manifold out. But thank god i was able to still screw the bolt back onto the stud and make everything work. But yeah ford sells those studs if worse comes to worse. they are mostly likely going to have to order it.

are they threaded? if the manifold has to come out then i need to buy headers, cuz there is no way im doin that twice... is it a bitch to drill it out? it wouldnt be toooo bad to just put a bolt in it

its threaded. I had to take mine out because the nut got crossthreaded when I did my X pipe...

try to pruposely crossthread your nut on there and then lossen it. get the crossthread in there good enoguh to where it wont loosen without a shit ton of torque. also you can try wd 40 or soemthing of the like.

I say this because this is how I got it out and i just rethreaded it with the file on a leatherman and used some lithium based grease and it worked as good as new

you can try the welding if you have the tools. Its a threaded bolt. just remember that.

its gonna be rusted to shit too. with the welding though i think you can get it off

Don't even bother trying to weld a nut to it and backing it out. It won't work. I snapped one off with about an inch of threadless material left and i had a buddy weld a nut on there about 5 times and every time we would completely weld the nut on let it sit for a while, and the nut would break off. The bolts are just to old and rusted. Your going to have to drill and rethread and replace the stud. We were able to drill a semi slanted hole(couldn't get starter out) and rethread for a new stud. It was by no means easy and we had the car on a lift. Just letting you know it may save you some time and disapointment.

I snapped both of mine off on the drivers side, heat and vise grips did not work.I had to remove the spacers, they look like part of the bolt but they are actually bushing's slid and rusted on over the stud.(with heat) that left enough of the stud to weld a nut on. then heated the manifold flange with a torch and they came out.

don't but the studs from ford, they were super expensive, like $70 for 2 studs and nuts. got mine from napa for about $5

You can get it out by welding a nut to it iif you use the right filler material. Just use a low-hydrogen electrode and everything should be fine.
