Cobra or Mach?

well since my gt is most likely totaled, i am in the market for a new stang. i wana get either an 03-04 mach or a 2000-02 cobra. which do you guys reccomend. i can't afford an 03-04 cobra, so don't reccommend that. i like the machs because of there styling and shaker hood, but the cobras are usually a little cheaper. hmmn?

hmm im a fan of the mach's as well, but a cobra is always nice. If you can find an 04 Mach for a good price id say go for it. They have like abour 300 stock HP. SO its not bad. But then again a cobra is a cobra. Either one is fine, look around and see what you find

Its alot better then the 99-01 CObra IMHO...

4V with a straight Axle and the Mach's are awesome...

Yea the MAch is a DOHC 4v engine. Its built stronger than those cobras IMO. Plus i love the shaker hood. Machs have nice interiors too, so yea go for the Mach

The cobra has IRS...And those early cobras had alot of issues...

Plus I think the Mach's look a hell of alot better...

And if you get a Manual Mach then the engine will have a forged crank which is good...

And the Machs just look alot better...

I saw my first Mach 1 at the last show of the season around the end of August. It was Competition Orange and was for sale at $22K with just 1500 miles on it. I asked the owner to open the hood and my brain went wild! The last time I saw a similar look was a '67 dodge R/T back in the early 70's for sale for $1300.
Mustang tuning aka American muscle has info on mustangs and the list prices for some years and I was surprised to see that my '99 GT Convertible listed for $25K.
I guess your budget will dictate what you spend. You could always find a pristine GT and add a Kennebell SC! Good Luck, mark

Just my humble opinion. I bought a 03 gt with 28, 000 miles on it alittle over a month ago and it was 17 after taxes. So i dont see how you can find a nice somewhat low milage mach 1 for much below 19. And i see no point in buying a mach1 with tons of miles knowing it was driven the shit out of.

i got my 02 with 23k and i paid 20 after taxes...so the fact that you paid less then me for pretty much the same car gives hope to our friend in the market for the mach....thats not to say i didnt get ripped off cuz i prolly did...but i am optamistic in thinking that he can indeed find one for under 20k.....i'm guessing with anywhere from 40-50k miles on it..which isnt alot of miles at all

I think it just comes down to where you live here in socal when I was looking for a GT a local BMW dealership had a Mach 1 for 28 grand and wouldn't think of taking anything less. Nice car but too much money.
