BOV?

Hey guys, I finally took the car to the dyno yesterday and ran into small problems with my set up. First of all, I have a draw through set up with my MAF right after the filter and th bypass valve on the discharge pipe. Once my car was on the dyno, the shop called me to let me know that my MAF was jumping really bad (the readings were off and the air was not being metered correctly) due to the intercooler and piping being so long. The solution is to relocate the MAF as a Blow through and vent the air to the atmosphere. Ok im fine with that. Correct me if im wrong, but when using a BOV, doesnt this causes the car to run rich for a moment because once the throtle body plate closes, the extra air that is being released by the BOV has being accounted for by the maf and it has to compensate with more fuel? Im just worried about the car running rich at times. I have heard that this can also cause problems with the cat converter because the extra fuel settles there and it could clog it.

When converting to blow through the car should run 10x better, driveability should be great.

Why is that? I was thinking that it would be worse because the extra boost and fuel would be accounted for and by venting to the atmosphere you have no air and extra fuel in the combustion chamber.

Your blow off is venting after the MAF right? This means that it will be running rich for that instant, but its doing that anyway since the only time it will blow off is when you are shifting or letting of the gas. In that instant it is always runing rich anyway. This is why you see lots of high performance cars shoot fireballs when they shift.

My MAF is between the throtle body and the intercooler. The BOV is between the head unit and the intercooler. I see what you are saying, it makes sense. Thanks alot guys.

Im fixing the same problem before i install my s/c. what happens with the maf before the intercooler is it take a reading of air and then it goes through all the piping. So first the reading the comp get is of air that will be there in a few seconds not of what is entering the engine and second the air properties change once the air flows through all the piping. The intercooler is makin the air more dense but that maf doesnt account for that. this is what you want the maf as close to the intake as possible.
