My CR is 10.54:1 and you are close on my cams specs, but like you I don't like to post them up (especially since the grinds belong to Tim)

Yeah the cams and slight compression difference is probably where the power difference is.......

^ I hope this helps I did a lab on an old diesel engine at my school
Objective: To obtain the timing circle of a diesel engine. Abstract: We turned a diesel engine about its flywheel and took measurements using a rod and top dead center (T.O.D.) and bottom dead center (B.O.D.) as a reference. Using masking tape on the flywheel we marked the various points of timing and in the end with simple calculations found the degrees at which it all occurred, than we displayed it on a four cycle timing diagram. Data: Measurement From TDC (in), Measurement From BDC (in), Angle Ahead or Behind (Degrees) Intake Opens: 1.18, 36, 7.17 Intake Closes: 37.50, 4.75, 228.81 Exhaust Opens: 27.00, 1.125, 164.75 Exhaust Closes: 2.19, 32.5, 13.36 Beginning of Pump Stroke (Injection) Open: 56.50, 27.5, 344.75 Circumference (in), bottom dead, top dead 59, 29.25, 31 Sample Calculations: (1.18/59)*360 = 7.17 degrees (37.5/59)*360 = 228.81 degrees (27.0/59)*360 = 164.75 degrees Results: 1.

That sounds freakin nice!!
Noob question here but what part of the cam specs gives it that awesome idle or lope. is it the 110 degrees of lobe seperation? How close to that sound can you get before having to notch the pistons? |

an easy way to figure out how much chop (or lope) a cam will have is like this: The more overlap the choppier the sound. Figuring Overlap Of A Cam - Add the intake and exhaust durations - Divide the result by 4 - Subtract the LSA - Multiply the results by 2
