Just Got Back From The Dyno
hey i got back from the dyno with a lot of cool stangs! im talking about 2 shelby's, 07 roushe, but loads of cobras (one cobra got 495 hp) and gts. it was lots of fun. i put my 01 gt on the dyno. im running 410 grears, cool air intake and flowmanster pipes. everything else is stock. so i got 238.6hp. why? dont gts come with 260hp? is it cuz cars say the have an amount of HP on paper but its actually lower? was it the dyno? or something wrong with my car? the stock 05 and up gts suposed to have 300hp were getting 260-280hp

when they say 260 they mean at the flywheel, which i around 200-210 rwhp. you have 238.6 rwhp which could be around 280-290 at the flyheel

It says 260 HP but thats at the motor, the HP that ends up at the wheels is around 225 or 230

the general rule of thumb is about a 15% loss for a 5 speed

Thats decent numbers.. I think the highest I have heard about in stock form is Kenne bells test car, they said 245 RW.. I said, is it for sale? I just bought mine and ran it once at Test and Tune and it only ran 14.3...LMAO i need mods..sighing

Ok wait a sec, we have pretty much the same mods and my numbers came out to 245rwhp. do you think it may be that i'm in ga and the temp and conditions were better? oh wait and i got an automatic w/o the gears. so what's really going on?

mustang dyno is going to give lower numbers but they are more of a real world number. the auto is gonna suck more power than an auto also. also air temps, humity also can make a big difference

When I got my car tuned they had to calculate for the new gears. I know that if you have a taller gear the dyno will read lower than if you have stock gears and they didn't account for the new gears in the computer or tune.

yea as dragracing said, get to a mustang dyno. The numbers will more than likely be lower, but they will be closer to the actual HP and TQ.
