Drag Radials On The Street

Any guys running them on a daily driver? If so how are they? I have another car so I don't drive in the rain but I would not want it to feel like the rear end is not connected to the car! I have 315/35's but no traction as it is now. On a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best/like a regular tire where would you rate yours and what size and brand are you using? Thanks, mark

Im running a 275-55-13 MT Drag Radial on mine. But its not a daily driver.

Got several friends who run the same...they all agree the DRs suck in the rain. Just got to slow down and watch out for standing water.
Also. They average about 8,000 miles per set.

I belive the Nittos and BFGs will offer more milege, but they dont hook anything like the MTs.

i run 315/35/17 BFG DR and also i run nittos. nitto will last longer but bfg will hook better. its my DD and you can drive in the rain, just be careful.

Thanks, I will consider them when it's time for rear rubber to be replaced. Maybe they will get me a 60' closer to a 2.0, mark

Nitto drag radials+ rain= my car in a ditch and a near death experience. DO NOT RUN DR'S ON A DAILY DRIVER!!!! eventually they will bight you in the ass, plus how bad do you really need them, do you go to the track daily, i doubt it. mine almost killed me, no joke, i posted about it! but they do improve traction alot. go with nittos if you decide.

in NJ you'd get tons of tickets too. Tires can't be wider than wheel wells

the nittos are the best d/r imo if you plan on using it on the street and track. and they arent to bad in the rain. i didnt notice any difference between my other tires and the nittos in the rain. you just gotta remember a rear wheel drive car with some power in the rain you gotta take it easy no matter what tires you got. but if you want a tire just for the track dont go with nittos.but for dual purpose street and track its a good tire to go with. well im done rambling and im drunk so im goin to bed

Drag Radials are fine...

Just keep the air pressure right and you will be fine...

I ran Nitto's for a while, until I went back to street tires as I run slicks at the track now. They were a significant improvement over stock and they lasted pretty good too.

The Nitto's have a pretty good wear grader...I cant think of it right off the top of my head...I know their street tires are like 300 or something to that effect...

i run nittos on mine and have driven it in the rain many times. the reason you went into the ditch was becuase you were being to playful with the throttle and gave it to much. also you need to learn how to get your car back under control if it does somehow get crazy. ive driven my drs at 80 mph in the rain and as long as your easy with the throttle youll be fine.

whoever said you would get a ticket for the tires stickin out to wide must have forgotten how wide mustang fenders are. you need some wide tires to be stickin out. my 275 drag radials are still very tucked in the fender wells

that would probably also depend on the backspacing of the wheels you are runnin' too.
