Unless its heavily modded, just trade it in for a manual. Will cost a lot to swap over.

manual: more fun, depending on how you drive better mpg, you think people think you are sweet that you drive stick

auto: easy

you can sell the auto tranny and the computer to somewhat counter the cost

it dont cost that much to convert to manual if you get the parts at the right places. the conversion isnt that hard either.

Just beef up your auto man. A lot of people rip on autos but they can be fast also.

beefed up auto will be faster. I rather spend the extra few grand (even shopping around) on mods. Just trade it in. and upgrade to a mach or something i wish i did..

+1 It isn't that bad at all. me and sweet did mine pretty quickly. And we put on a crap load of aftermarket parts at the same time.

promotion powertrain sells a built t-45 for around $1000. But you could also, depending on your money, get a t-56.

+100000 I am with him...a lot of people do rip on the auto's. They are really not that bad and can made to be brutal. Just like anything else you have to spend the money to make it outperform the competition...whether you see that as competing against a 5-speed or even a different make and model of car all together. You want to be quick??...you have to pay to play. I am spending about $2000 dollars(parts & labor) when all said and done on a rear end gear mod...torque converter mod...valve body(j-mod) mod...and a custom tune to tie all this in together. Add a few other things to make sure everything will last for long time like a transmission cooler and you have one killer of set-up. I am not sure what I will run in the quarter but if I can hook with some drag radials...I'm probably looking at mid 13's...not bad for a car that just has an h-pipe and exhaust...with all the other mentioned.

If you want to go 5-speed that is fine too but just like people are saying it is better to just sell your car and get a 5-speed. I am going to post a video on YouTube and then post it here on the forum to show people what a built up auto can do. Some will still never own an auto just because they would like to row there own gears...but you know what?...that is okay too...it is all what you want to use to drive the car...not anyone else's...I'm just telling you that an auto can be just as fun as a manual but in different ways.
