can some one please tell me how the sct livewire hooks up to your car . i have found tons of info on the tuner functions and capabilities but not how to hook it up. does it splice-in or is it a plug in type unit.

it plugs into your obd2 port located under the steering wheel next to the center console.

well basically all it does extra is show you your live data.

after market gauges can do the same thing.

but i think this has the cool factor over a/m gauges. also can these handle most mods, say up to a s/c or turbo. it seems like this is the road i am on to mod my stang. i need more power in the 3-5 gear range.

no. tuning is not an easy task at all man.
one little fuck up can cost you your motor. esp if using a power adder.

ok is there a "tuning for dummies" one could read to make sense of it all. how do you know a reputable tuner from a bad one. where did they get started?

A good tuner can help you as well. If you go get a dyno tune they can put it on the livewire just like a x2 or x3

if you want the live wire go with Joe from Trick Tuners. I had my car tuned by him and was VERY pleased.
he is a vendor here and you get 2 years of free retunes if you buy the live wire from him.

yeah ive seen several people with his tunes. but how would one go about getting started tuning . there are no tuners here in my neck of the woods, say less than 2hrs drive. plus i am the kind of person that does all my work myself, kind of a perfectionist to a fault. when i do get somethng done i'm right there watching their every move.
