your gonna need to have your block machined about .020 over to make sure everything is clean and smooth.

or you can buy a complete short block. www.lethalperformance.com has mod max engines for sale. i know they have a built stroker short block for $2800. not a bad price at all. anyways i would say just run one poweradder but if you must a little bit of nitrous, not a lot.

all of the prices for the forged parts were pretty rough so they might cost more or less

I was looking at the short block at lethal performance and wouldn't this be more cost effective than disassembling my engine, forging the internals, having it borred, etc, etc.

What other pieces to the engine does this not include? What pieces would I still need to purchase? Is this a reputable company? I really need to do something to my engine soon.

the short block only has the block, crand and pistons( i think) you'd still need to dissassemble your engine to get the heads and intake off of it to fit the new short block....this may sound dumb and ignorant but i dont think that the cams come with the short block.....im not 100%

the shortblock includes, block, rods, crank, pistons. you will have to take your heads, and cams, and all of the other thinkgs off of your stock motor to make it work. its a good idea also ro buy a cobra oil pump and replace the gears with billett gears.
mmr is a great engine and i have ordered a few things from lethal performance. you nay want to call them, and see about the availabilty of them. that is a helluva deal too. its forged and its gonna be able to handle more power than your going to throw at it.

that 2800 is for the shortblock only. on a high horsepower engine it is smart to replace the stock gears inside the oil pump with a set of billet gears.

hey thats not so bad! shiet i was thinkin more along the lines of 4-5000...but the short block assembly will fit all my existing upper engine parts right...so then a port and polish job for the heads and intake and some cams would be considered a fully built motor?

well built motor most poeple will call it just a built bottom end. but yeah a port and polish and new cams would make everything even better. and also the modular is called modular for a reason. most of the parts will mix and match fine, so yes it iwll bolt up to all of your stuff you have now

Thanks for the info. It should help immensely, now only if there was a reputable shop in the South Jersey/Philly Area.

How important are heads? Would new high performance heads be better than polishing and porting the stock heads?

Or should you polish and port the heads either way for a better result?

well they are the same thing, so why not save some money and just have your stock heads p&p'd
