What do you have to do to take this test. i work at a dealership but and i want a mechanic to check mine but if its a big job, then forget because ill have to give them a little bit of money. But what does this process involve?

You cannot directly "test" the compression ratio, it is a physical/mechanical property of an engines design and represents the cylinder/combustion chamber volume at BDC divided by the cylinder/chamber volume at TDC.

It can be sort of inferred from cranking compression values, but not really.

The compression ratio for the '03 GT 4.6L 2V is listed as 9.74:1 in the '03 factory shop manual, I believe the '02s are the same.
