Headers really open these 4valve engines up a lot. Gears would be the best bang for the buck, they won't add any horse power but it'll feel like a world of difference.

I would guess on a dyno you are probably around 280-290 to the wheels.

no. i think theymight come with 3.55 but i always thought they were regular ole 3.27. even so....3.55 isnt so steep..go 4.10 or even 4.30 the 4v can handle the 4.30 reeeal nice

Yeah I believe 3.55 from the factory. Don't be afraid of the 4.30's. that's what I'm running and they are in my opinion the best for the 4v's.

3.55 from the factory. 4.10s at a minimum and 4.30s are not too much gear for them. Exhaust, CAI, shifter, gears, axles, drag radials = 12s. I could be in the 11s with a 100 shot but I am going to wait a bit on that. Might do tubular k and some skinnies and see what that brings me.

4.30 it is. What about a short throw shifter?

I prefer the Tri-Ax...Some guys on here prefer the MGW though...

Both are great shifters...

I love my tri ax as well. Alot of Mach owners I know prefer the MGW. What exhaust are you going with?

Do you have an automatic or stick shift ?? You didn't list it in your description.

I would stay away from smaller pulleys
You have an accufab throttle body, so the headers and better exhaust would be a logical step in the right direction.

The lower gears would help the car on take-off and light to light racing, but you would really pay the price at the pump. If you use your car a lot, that may not be such a good way to go.

One area that might help make more power and help with gas mileage would be the ignition, Accel or Granatelli Motor-sports both offer HP replacement coil on plug ignition systems, supposedly worth 30-40 HP.
