Installed My 78mm BBK Thorttle Body Plenum

yup i was expecting to get it sometime next week but to my suprise i got it today, install took lierally 20 mins, as for performance i can definatlely fell the difference in power, but i cant really say if its better or worse than others because this is the first throttle body and plenum ive used, so far im happy with it, i have no complaints about it YET

Most underhood heat transfer, at speed, is radiant--painting "it" black will cause it to absorb more radiant heat.

OTH, while sitting in line or staging the underhood heat builds and the ambient temps rise, that's when a plastic/composite tube can provide some protection against heat soak. Once underway the advantage of a plastic tube becomes minimal...

what do you think of this piece, cliffyk? i know on your site you have that chart with the flow data, didn't know if you knew anything about this one.

It's real pretty, and I think that if I was running some considerable amount of boost (12 psi+) I'd look into it. However for any streetable n/a application it will add nothing that nearly any other 70 mm TB and aftermarket plenum could not achieve as well. An n/a 4.6L 2V just doesn't need that much air.

I would be interested in knowing how it does at lower loads and engine speeds. I drove a friends '02, with 4.10s and an Accufab 75 mm TB and plenum, in slow traffic throttle control at say 40 in 5th (arguably too slow for 5th gear) was a PITA creating a hurky-jerky ride. It really forced you to shift into 4th and get the revs up to 2200 or so.
