pypes

hey guys its been a nightmare i order the pypes catted xpipe and violater system and i haven't been able to get it on. The xpipe is all messed up. the first indication was when the cats didn't slip into the xpipe because the xpipe was pushed out to except the cat. Paid 20 bucks got that fixed. Next i go to put it on and the thing is off by like 2 inches from fitting propery it needs to be bent inward on the passenger side. So tomorow the whole this is getting done my monro the closet place to where my car is sitting i really hope the pypes sound is worth it. i have no idea what they are gona charge me. i also called pypes on friday and told them sent them pics and stuff. he said it looks like its close. To try and put it together well after 2 hours of playing with it it still didn't fit properly. I called back like he said to do. Hes not there i leave a message and ask him to call me back never called and i called 12 to leave the message. Should i ask for some kinda compensation. what to you guys think.

I think the sent you the wrong kit but that doesn't mean you dont have to be a dick about it... just call them again tell them you are an unsatisfied customer and you will never purchase from them again and that you're going to tell everyone you know thats thinking about it that it is a waste of money and that they have poor customer service

^ plus 1...

putting on an aftermarket Mid pipe should not be that difficult at all. Its simple as take the stock on off, put the new one in with a gasket on passenger side header, and enjoy...

I agree, I bought the O/R x pipe and had it on within 20 minutes. Everything lined up properly. Maybe they either gave you the wrong one or had the wrong one boxed.

Dude I have the sme problem with my system I have everything that you do. I have seen plenty of pictures of the Pypes offroad x installed and it looks perfect. Mine is catted so I have to put the cats on. The pipe wouldn't fit over the cats and all that good stuff I actually had to use a block of wood and a mallet to get them on. Quick question did you read the instructions where it says to cut a few inches off the x where the cats connect? That could be your problem. The sound is awesome but the whole thing fits like ass. Hangs Low, the drivers side cat hangs way lower than the passenger, like its torqued. The cat back is about the only thing that fits good. Except the tips. The hanger setup blows I actually had a bolt break and send the tip flying down the highway at 65mph. I had to order 2 from Pypes because they only sell them in pairs. So there was like 60 buck. I have taken my car to Mieneke to have them adjust everything and its still really low. Its going to be extremely interesting once I put my springs on this weekend. If you see a white stang throwin sparks down the road its not on airbags it just has that Pypes header back lol

yes i read the instructions 9.5 inches i think it said and the cat was like puting pipe on pipe wasn't flanged at all. if that makes anysense. I am not trying to be a dick i am just fed up with them blowing me off. I know i can't make this fit my friend has put on many exhausts and has never seen something so far off. I did by the gasket for the passenger side along with new ford nuts for the studs because mine didn't come off i had to have one heated off. They said they might send me another xpipe but this one will work fine with a inch bend towards the passenger side.

to the top comment about the wrong part i read the number to the guy he said it will fit and thats the right xpipe and in response to the cat not fitting he said they probably just forgot to put that side on the machine that makes the cat fit properly also said he was sorry i had to pay 20 bucks to have it fixed.

Note to self: STAY AWAY FROM PYPES EXHAUST SYSTEMS!

hope it works out for ya and you get everything done. I would call them up and ask to speak to a manager and tell them you want a refund and you are sending the mis back. F that. Get a different set up.

i bought my pypes violator from AM and the bbk o/r X from stangmods. i had to torch the X and bend it by hand about an inch for it to fit. and the violator catback is a friggin PITA to fit. ended up cutting part of the unibody for the axleovers to fit. but in the end it all fit pretty good after some adjusting. have you started the car up yet? how do you like your loud ass exhaust? haha

finally got it monro took 6 hours and alot of custom fabing to get it to work buy i like the sound. If i did it again i would def not by pypes just because of this hassle but the sound is def good very different sounding. NO Drone at all which is very good. I def feel a power increase. The dudes at pypes where help full but didn't know why nothing was fitting. Sounds like quality control problem. overall though i am happy with the way it sounds.
