question about gears

I know I'm going to sound pretty stupid, but i did do a search and still didn't really find what I wanted, so yeah. What exactly is it that you're talking about when you say to do 410s or whatever? I'm new to this aspect of cars, and new to mustangs altogether. What exactly is this? how much do they cost? and how do you put them in? Thank you

When someone says "Get 4.10 Gears" they are talking about a ring and pinion set...They are prolly the best first mod you could do...It wont give you hp or tq but it will make your car alot quicker off the line...You can buy the gears, install kit, bearing kit, etc from www.americanmuscle.com

Install is normally around $200...

The number 410 is in reference to a gear ratio. Stock you come with 3.27. The higher the number the steeper the ratio and the better your bottom end acceleration is going to be. Going as high as 410 can make your gas mileage suffer a little bit so some people (like myself) go either with 373 or 390s. To agree though yes good first mod. Also, yes this topic is on at least 20 threads per month so you should search first.

I did search, and didn't find exactly what I wanted to know, what I wanted to know is what the ratios are...I can't explain what I want to know...that might be why I can't find it...but this helps anyway

Just an FYI, we do price match. Just throwing it out there that, more than likely, we'd be able to beat any price you find. As long as we can verify it, we'll take care of you.
