Gas Mileage With Comp 270's?
Anybody running Comp 270 cams (or similar grind from another company), what's your gas mileage like?

gas mileage is all in the driver man, same goes with gears, and superchargers, and any other thing you put on. But again we didn't buy a mustang for gas mileage. So if you drive like grandma than mid 20's easy, but why buy a mustang and put cams in it and then drive like a grandma

The more overlap you run, the worse mpg you will get. (worst being around 3mpg, less for mild cams). Go for it!

I think the gas mileage is a legitimate question. There are lots of things you can do to these cars that will get you alot of power and not sacrifice very much gas mileage. The general rule is, the more efficient your car is, the better fuel mileage you will get. However, when you start increasing cubes and adding boost, your mileage will decrease. That is why turbo's are such a popular and efficient option. They create vacume at low rpm's lowering the power and fuel consumption at low rpms. This is why they are soo good on diesel engines. But, they also bring alot of power in the high rpm's.
I have several friends with upgraded turbo's on their cars, that make better mileage because of it. Of course, they can also burn it alot faster now if they choose to. Alot is how you drive, and alot is how you plan for all of your shit to work together. The more efficient your air pump is, the more power you will make from what your putting in to it.

You need to get your car tuned then, you are running way too rich. Its likely that your engine is not able to adjust correctly to the new set up. I have a friend with stage 2 heads and cams with LT's and CAI making 300+ whp and making 30mpg on the highway.
