whAT will happen if i race a 04 350z vs my 03 mustang GT mostly stock except catback exhaust,cai, and short throw shifter what will be odds of the race u think i can take it let me know thanks

All 350Zs get the same sports suspension and Nissan's superb VQ35DE V6 engine, which punches out 287 horsepower and strong torque. I couldn't find any solid hp #'s on any of them, but I think they may be around 220-240. Not sure if that is at the wheels or flywheel though

Any how they aren't that powerfull from the factory, and can't have a very good tranny.


If you have a standard and can drive decent then I think you could take one out!

If you must be absolutely sure to win go for some rearend gears, try 4.10 or higher

stock for stock it should be a good race but dont be pissed if he beats you. just go to the track and find out.if he beats you come back next time with some more go fast stuff and show him whos boss

tough call. i have raced a few and they have been close! they arent stock of course but they didnt have much done. off the line is mustang territory but from a roll good luck. the last one i raced from a roll i didnt pull on it till 130 then didnt even pull but 3 cars on him at 150

the reason i am asking is because my friend has a 03 350 and want to race me with some money on it the race should be tomorrow all he has is intake i been able to kick alot of cars ass but never race a Z before so what u think guys

I race him but wouldn' put any money on it. If he is so eager to put money on it, he may not be as stock as he says he is.

i think that race will come down to the driver. i found with 3.73's you can ride 4th at about 40mph and be at low rpm to kinda disguise your intent and drop 2nd and stab it and you won't believe how it gets on down from a 40 punch.

that was my fav thing to do in my '93 cobra. lol

id say thats a drivers race,
in the 1/8mile i'd give it to the GT,,,,the 1/4 is either driver or i'd still stick with the GT

350z have done nothing to impress me in videos or specs that ive seen
ive never seen a 350z win.

shit i scared a guy in my v6 n he had a 350..we didnt race but he wanted to til i hit the gas for a sec or 2

i saw a kid at the trach with intake/exhasut/chip/ and DRs run a 13.79 thats pretty respectable and deep into mustang gt territory watch yourself try to make it a 1/8th race or a little shorter then a 1/4

2004 350Z = 13.77

Most 350Z drivers cant drive worth a $hit...ANd I still yet to see a stock 350Z go 13.7 in the 1/4...

I have saw them go 13.9's stock...But I have also seen Stock Mustang GT's go 13.8's stock...Both with really good drivers...

i would race him at the track with a tree since its gonna be such a close race and its for $$$
both of you are gonna need every 10th you can get.

plus it would cut down on the chances of someone calling bs.
