Do you have upper/lower control arms? what psi do you run in the rear tires? what rpm do you launch at?
I have a similar set up, only I have the old kdws (which are 275s), and steeda sport springs, with 4.10 gears, and I have no trouble hooking up. Even if you don't think running bigger tires will slow you down, im sure you know that those big tires are fing expensive, and unless you have disposable income, I'd hate to see you waste your money on something you really don't need.

You should invest in some control arms, I am not to far from you in numbers and I had the same issue with my 255 Nittos I upgraded my UCA and LCA and it is night and day when it hooks, I also have 4.10's which would make it more difficult than 3.73's and hooking is not an issue anymore and honestly your 295's are a more than you need for your setup.

ok... i'll look into some upr upper and lower CA's.
I run 28psi and i launch at 800rpm, it still spins like a mad dog, and when i hit 2nd, it always kicks sideways like crazy and spins until i let off.

yup.. i bog it and it somehow starts breaking loose by about 1500rpm.
This is how i made my 13.33 run with my 2.01 60' I dropped it at idle, when it started spinning, i 2 stepped gas as fast as my foot would move, i usually end up doing that at least twice in 1st, then as i slam into second, i'll 2 step it once and it'll hook afterwards. I know with my stock rims, and w/o my seats, i would have hit a 13.2 maybe even a 13.19 and yes, when i made that run, they just had prepped the track with VHT but i'm not much of a strip racer... i perfer the night streets instear

hey man i havent been on in a while glad to see your 1/4 time and a niice trap too man, if your gonna be riding on the streets everyday on dr's then i would go with nitto and your choice would have to be a 315/35/17 if you get a bfg its 325/40/15 which is the better choice for running your car, but like i said if your gonna daily drive on them like i do
get the nittos they dont care about rainbtw my buddy in his mach1 ran a 13.4 at 107 on street tires then put on mickey thompson dr's on 17inch rims and ran a 12.60 at 107 so with Dr's you will get well into the 12's

I have BFG 295's on my 18's right now, but I am going to get the 335's next. The 295's are definitely too narrow for a 10-11" wheel.

i think you should practice launching at a higher rpm and see the outcome. im sure once you get it down it would help you out on the the other end

His numbers aernt unheard of. I have seen that before. I have his mods minus long tubes, under pulleys, and the driveshaft. I was also using the canned tuned from SCT. I put down 250 whp. So with the difference in mods, I dont see the 30 whp difference that unusual. 315/30/18 drag radials are gonna be alot of money like 600 dollars for a pair.

Something is wrong. I had 295/35/18 BFG DRs that would hold 400 hp on a 2nd gear roll on. Even first would hook hard. I'm pretty sure you are not supposed to run anything over a 305 on 10" wheels. You technically need 10.5" for 315s.
