Widest tire accepted in our year?

Right now i have 295's and they're not even close to being big enough for my liking.

My buddy has some 345 bfg dr's that look freakin sick, but he had to roll the fenders, and i dont want something that big.

Would i be able to fit a 325?

how wide are your rear rims, if they are 10 inch than at least put 315's on them, 325-335's will work but hitting big bumps or if the car squats when getting on it can cause a problem.

i think the only way to do it is if you either roll the fenders or dont lower the car and have some really stiff suspension. if not i think youll run into rubbing issues and what not

I thought the 315's were as wide as you could go without rolling the fenders.

there is a point that a tire can be to big and slow your car down if you dont have the power for it. keep that in mind unless your just going for looks and not performance.

well considering i cant get traction worth shit in 1st or most of 2nd... i think these will most def help me.

a 315 or 325 isnt gonna slow down 280rwhp, otherwise everyone wouldnt be doing it.

well actually my car was faster on the 275's then the 315's both hooked about the same. 390rwhp just throwing it out there. I have seen it at the track guys going with bigger tires and do nothing but slow down. you dont have to have a super wide tire for traction you just need the correct kind of tire.
why do you think guys run 15" rims with slicks one reason lighter.

if your having traction issues with a 295, then you need to make adjustments in your setup or your driving style. Could be shitty tires, could be the air pressure set to high, suspension set to stiff, you using the throttle like a switch, or all the above, seriously 295s are plenty wide enough for 280whp.

he's talking about the width, not the size of the sidewall

I am well aware of that 275 and 315 is the width, I just stated some guys run 15" rims for weight reduction

If you run a taller tire you have to run a steeper gear to compensate.

That is why it slows them down.

Might suggest an aftermarket adjustable pinion snubber with a softer rubber tip. Raise it up a bit until the fullest load isnt touching the tires. Of course proper suspension would really be the answer thats a short term fix.

Gentlemen... i have a great suspension. and i run bfg gforce kdw 2's Its not a drag setup running a 90/10 but i do believe my stiffness is set 60/40 if i do remember correctly

And i'm talking DR's i know for a fact that any DR will hook better than what i have now.
