questions on procharger pulleys.

I wanna get everything i need to get done before heading 3-4 hours away to the tuner. I have a procharger w/ 3.60 pulley and I/C on my GT with no other mods at all. tuner got me to 350rwhp and said i need more mods. since then, ive got L/T's, O/r x pipe, catback, 75mm TB and plenum, and 80mm MAF. I know i'll gain some good RWHP out of adding those mods but i also want to go down in pulley size for a lil extra. My goal is to be a lil over 400rwhp till the forged bottom end comes later down the road. My question is.... How far down in pulley size should i go? I want one smaller than this 3.60 pulley.

Ima put all this on right before heading to the tuner. If there are any other small bolt ons that may help let me know.

you will definitely have over 400 at the wheels with that 3.6 pulley and those mods. i have the stock 3.85 pulley, tb/plenum, catted h, flows, 90mm maf and 42's and i put 383 to the wheels easily. he said i could have had over 400 with a little more timing.

you will probably peg your mass air meter when you go to get it tuned though, so u might need to get a mafia or go bigger with that.

right on. you will see a huge difference with those mods. what sized injectors are you running? i think you will see about 420 at the wheels with your mods and the pulley you are running. if you go with a smaller pulley you might be over the limit for safety. what kind of dyno did you get tuned on?

look at my mods it might give you an idea of what you need. granted my car is capable of a whole lot more but my internals are stock so im keeping it low. but if you had the same mods as me you could get over 400 way easy. i have a 3.10 pulley btw

my tuner told me that with these cars ignition is what really helps make serious power and without a good upgraded ignition system itll be hard to get a good spark and you wont make good power. he recommended the msd box but i have a kenne bell boost-a-spark which does the same thing except it wont cut off fuel supply when you have a spark blow out.

yeah when i first put my plugs in, the gap was to wide and the spark was blowing out anytime i reached 3500 rpms so i can see how that would be a good idea.

asked it before, gonna ask it again....why waste money on a mafia when you could just buy a better maf? Mafia is garbage...it is a band aid fix....it is used to cheat the sensor.

You will be fine. It is not as good as using a better MAF for reliability reasons. But your not at an extreme where tricking the sensor will be any huge consequence. I use the MAFIA with my 90mm lightning. Basically what it does is change the voltage the sensor reads, and then the tuner will change the CI of the motor in the ecu (or something like that).

Never been a fan of the MAFia...sure it will work for the setup you have now...but once you get that built block your gonna need something better...why spend money twice?

I have a very simple reason why i dont like the MAFia...the sensor isn't able to pick up all of the changes, so the mafia "extends" its range...in all practical terms, all it is doing is tricking the computer. Why not just get the proper sensor and be done with it? Sure you can tune with it and get by with it...just a half assed job imo.

You wont be over 400 with those mods. I am running a 3.6 pulley and am seeing around 8lbs. Bob is running the larger one and sees the same. You may need to run a 3.0 pulley to get there, but I think you will need a little more modding than that. And yes, your MAF is going to be pegged something wicked. Be careful....if the tuner is good, he will tell you about the MAF and if he is really good, he will tune for the 80mm as a safe tune for you. Take a look at my mods and Bobs mods. Id say you will be in the same range as me and bob.

You should be close to 400 with those, you were in the same boat as me I had the 3 60 pulley with a 3 core and all I had was a throttle body and magno flow exhaust. I dynod around 350 Also. I put on bassni headers off road x pipe and a new sct 2600 maf and my car gained 35 rwhp and 40 rtq. So I bet you could come to 400 with that 3 60 pulley, don't up the boost to gain about 15 rwhp, its not worth the strain on your rods. Use the 160 bucks that it would cost for a pulley from procharger and buy some control arms for another 200, you'll notice it a lot more than the extra 15 hp.

a 3.0 may give you about 12lbs of boost.

"C" you think the 3.00 pulley is a little much? maybe go with the 3.2? boost is the resistance right? so if i have all that exhaust work and larger tb and plenum, then it shouldnt be too restricted huh? 12# maybe hard on the car. but i do want to break the 400 mark.
