cop???


ok so i have a small miss every now and then and the mechanic who did my clutch said its a cop going bad but he didn't hook it up to a scanner to see which one so how can i find out

If your mechanic did not use a scanner then his diagnosis of a bad COP is meaningless.

Also, with an occasional miss I would suspect that the COP is fine (50% of COPs returned to Ford from warranty work have nothing wrong with them). Pull the COPs and inspect the boots for signs of arcing, and check the spark plugs at the same time.

If the plugs have more than 15k to 20k on them I'd just replace them anyway while I had 'em out--they are cheap enough and that will be one less potential issue.

New boots and conductor springs can be purchased here for $3 each.

spark plugs are brand new i have had 2 cops go bad on me before they just died

what about accel super coils ive heard bad things about msd and gms but what about these any input
