Window Louvers

So I want to put some window louvres on my mustang. Its Crimson Red with Arizona Beige racing stripes. Most of the ones that I find are black. In yalls opinion would that look bad? I'm kinda thinking it might but im not sure. Here's a pic of my car.

Ive seen some (new edge) that look good, and some not so much. IMO they look better on the s197's. But maybe w/ your color it wouldnt look too bad.

I'm wondering if i could find some that I can paint my color. I dont like the big huge ones, I like the way the ones on American Muscle look though.

If you really want them I don't think they would look bad on your car. I don't know what the AM ones look like. I definetely prefer the metal ones, Visus and there may be others?? I don't like the plastic ones. I would guess that any good shop could paint them to match if that's what you're thinking. I like the car. I almost got one like that before I got my Mach. It doesn't really need the louvers, but like I said, if it's something you really like then why not?

The ones on AM are just plain black but the blades on them aren't ridiculously huge on them. I am still toying with the idea of getting one. I just always like opinions to help me decide. lol

i've thought about it before and your color is really similar to mine.. really it's only a couple shades darker or so.. but AM says you can paint them or leave them in the jet black state that they ship in...

both of those cars are "flavors" or red.. if it's what you want to do, do it.. personally i like the look of your car now.. does your car have matching beige stripes across the top as well as the sides?

Mine has gold stripes on the hood and trunk area, not on the top though. It has the gold mustang stripes on the bottom of the sides. I like it the way it is too, just thought of ways to make it look different.

i personally dont really car for the look of them on the new edge, but they are nowhere the worst thing i have seen either. they are able to be painted to match.

not a huge fan of them on the new edge honestly, unless its a mach 1. i would suggest some super dark tinting honestly. i live here in az too, and i have allmost limo tint on my back window, and it does the trick nicely..

i vote for no louvers, and for dark tint like suggested.. i saw one at my doctors office one time last year that was the same color with those stripes and i thought it looked really good.. im thinking it was a vert, though, with a tan top and no spoiler.. there are tons of things you can do to your car to personalize it your own way.. some tough decisions.. dark tint, lowered, nice rims and meats will make your car look sharp(er) guaranteed lol

Yeh i'm thinking no louvers too. I just got my windows tinted, i didn't want them too dark but i am actually thinking that i want it darker in the back. I'm going to get all the stuff to lower it really soon. Probably an eiback pro kit. Idk if i will change my rims cuz i like the special edition ones. So for now I want to do a chin spoiler and lower it. Then work on the performance parts for the engine and rear end...thats where it counts anyway right? lol

well, if you wanna see the difference it makes having dark tint, just lemme know. you can take a seat in my car and see if you like it. as for the mods, the springs will look great. i put a set on my old 98 gt, and i loved them. just the perfect drop without going too low. just be sure to do caster camber plates so it can be aligned properly or you will wear out front tires.

Yup i've already priced them, I read up on lowering and what all i needed to do. Thanks for the offer to check out yours. Do you know any good shops around here to get work done? I'm out here at Luke AFB working night shift so sometimes i don't really get a chance to get out other than the car shows now and then.

sounds like you've got a good plan.. as far as changing rims.. i didn't mean like changing what they are as much as getting some 17x10.5 in the rear with a nice set of tires for a nice wide aggressive stance am sells 17x10.5 in the bullit wheels

I'm gonna look into that cuz I like the wider back tires, i just didn't want to change the rims cuz they're special edition.

American Muscles replica look the same, and the new edge looks gorgeous with a good set of deep dish rims. As for the louvers, there is a guy out here by me with a set on his rear window and they're painted to match. His car was fire engine red though. And I have a friend with sonic blue and he kept his black and his looks pretty sweet. Only thing is you really need to get the metal ones, the plastic tends to warp and fade quickly.

Yeh I dont really like plastic anything. lol. I figured that if I got aluminum that I wouldn't have to worry about paint chipping off when the plastic warps or anything like that...but im not sure what i wanna do yet
