Volume Control, This is driving me freaking nuts!

Does anyone else have the issue that I am having with the stock Mach 460 sound system where you go to turn the volume down and it turns up more? It annoys me when I go through a drive through or something and i'm trying to order and my volume is jacking up as i turn it down. It might be the phoenix heat or i might just have a jacked up stereo.

Mine does the samething too! Pisses me off. Mine does it only when it is cold outside or when I first start the car. I don't know if can be fixed. I have realized if I move it really slow it works. The only advice I have is turn off the radio when going through drive throughs. lol

i hated the 460 system in my car, i pulled it all and installed aftermarket everything.

my first 6 disc headunit did that till it finally decided to not give me back my cd's and it bit the big one. just bought a factory replace headunit though, and have not had the problem again...

mine will go up like a half bar or a whole bar everyonce in awhile when i try to turn it down, angers me, but sometimes there is a background staticy noise that goes away if i turn it off then back on

Yeah i know about the static sound mine makes like a clicking sound every now and then. Mine fixes when I turn it off and back on. My old mustang used to do it when it was cold. I think the stock decks are just garbage.

especially when they get some age on them. luckliy for those of us not wanting to totally redo our sound system, there are plenty of people upgrading and selling the old ones cheap. picked my last one up for 50 bucks.

Awesome. I like being in a bigger city too bc its easier to find used parts. Hopefully i can figure something out. I'd like to have the Mach 1000 system.

maybe its only the newer model 460s, the 460 in my 99 works great, all stock, only problem i have is the disc skips after it gets hot in summer after about the 7-8 song.

It might be. Mine always messes up when it gets hot/cold. But of course when its shut up in a car when its over 110 degrees outside i can't imagine thats good for it. Question 99mustanggtman, what do you use to get your paint looking so shiny? lol

haha mine does the same thing songs 1-10 work great after that it just skips

I have the same headunit yo guys do in my 03 Expedition and I think it's taking a shit. It won't do anything with CDs. Won't eject, load, play em, nothing. Dammit.

You know what now that i think about it mine does that too. Its especially awesome when I have someone riding with me somewhere, and my CD player won't play so they make fun of my car. lol

I have the same problem when its hot as hell outside. Only thing you have to do is pull the knob out or push it to the right while turning it. I can't remember which one I have to do for this car, been awhile since I've had that issue though.

there maybe a software update at the dealer ship for this issue. they always come up with patches "after the fact"........reprogramming is big at dealerships.....if you still have warrenty or extend. warrenty they "should" cover this issue...good luck.....if not get an after market system.....
