As for the exhaust, yea, it sounds like ass, but they serve about the same purpose as flowmasters on our cars (absolutely none). so many of us don't have room to talk.
As long as it's done tastefully its cool with me. But i hate noise, no matter what kind of car it's coming from.

since when did exhaust do nothing? and if your roomates stock honda will beat your mustang well... dig a hole, walk that poor horse in and shoot it behind the ear. the stock SIs arent that fast. there are fast hondas out there ones that will beat me but sure as shit not stock.

he has an s2000. They're just as fast as our cars stock. 240hp in a much lighter car. his is a 6 speed and mine is a crappy auto so he walks on me.
And to tell you the truth, my stock Si isnt a whole lot slower if you know how to drive it. Dont get me wrong, i love my mustang much more than my civic or my roomate's s2000, but ignorant statements about them kinda bother me.

not to me. they're both annoying as hell when they drive by my house. IMHO, an exhaust is a waste of money unless your car is built enough to actually need the increased flow. A stock Mustang with flowmasters is domestic rice.

coming from the person that can not out run a stock Honda! With the low end TQ you should own that Honda, if you are a bad driver than maby with the exhaust you can take your roommate. oh I forgot you said exhaust does not give you horse power???????????

the S2000 is half ass respectable that being said my freinds father has one and when my freind has it out, i eat him iv never run with him up high but im guessing he would realy run. you should beat him. and dont put mustang and rice in the same sentance again

How can you be a bad driver with an automatic? launching isnt exactly hard.
I've driven his car many times. It may not have much torque, but the car hits over 9k rpm's and it pulls like hell when it gets there. Check the 1/4 mile and 0-60 times out for yourself. they're nearly identical, but i think the s2k has a bit of a lead. And the fact that my car is an auto and a convertible probably makes it a bit slower than a coupe.
Show me some actual proof that a cat-back exhaust actually increases performance. I've never seen anything more than a 5hp gain, which isn't even worth mentioning. Half the time you just end up losing torque.

my car is an auto and i'm pretty sure i'll spank the shit out of a 2000...as far as the pipes go...mufflers dont do much your right...but a complete exhaust system with all the trimmings does indeed make about 15 hp...a stock SI is slow as shit...dont kid yourself...if you cant out run ur buddies 2000 its YOU not ur ride...auto or not...lots of people need the "driver mod"

That's all i was saying. I know his car is faster than mine. Mine is old, and the convertible top most likely takes it down a peg or 2 from the car they actually got the numbers from. 130k hard miles take's it's toll on everything from the origional tranny, to wheel bearings, to compression. His car was obviously tested as a convertible since that's all they make. If you still think my stock car should be faster than his then you're clearly talking out of your ass.
As for modding the s2k, i'm not too sure how fast they get N/A but i've seen quite a few putting out 500hp with modest boost.


And as for the exhaust, 15hp isnt bad, but like you said, it needs to be a full system and done right. It's still the same thing as throwing a full system on a 4cyl, IMO. I just cant justify dealing with that noise, expecially in a close neighborhood like mine, or on long road trips, just for a few hp gain, if any.
Either way, i dont like it. My first Honda came with a fart can and it was promptly removed when i baught it. My mustang came with a flowmaster system and i'm going to do the same thing to that when i get the important stuff situated.
