Huh? Didnt follow that part about the MPG, but the "sensor" is actually the float attached to the pump. Mine got stuck down once on a long road trip and i went to the back of the car, sat on the ground with my legs under the tank, and kicked the shit out of it! It loosened up and worked after that. Give it a try. If you cant get it to dislodge (if it is stuck) you will have to drop the tank.....and possibly may have to rewire or fix the float, depending on the problem.

Sounds about right

Try this.... Run your car untill you run out of gas or are running on fumes. Go to a gas station fill up, then unplug your battery for 15 minutes. PLug it back up crank up the car and try it then.

Also, Ive been told that when putting gas in your tank when the handle clicks, DO NOT put anymore gas in there. I was told that putting more gas in there after it clicks is how your fuck up that sensor...
