stroker?
is the stroker kits worth the time and money? got all external bolt ons done except for headers and dont know where to go from here. plans are for boost or spray maybe both. but wondering if i should just forge it or stroke it at the same time. i keep blowing out the t45 of course so i will be putting power thru a tko trans and a 31 spline rear. whats should be next?

im running a stroker motor. extra cubes are always worth the effort though. you might check out wet sleeving though. it gets the big cubes but does it by boring. you couldnt use your stock block though. has to be done in an aluminum block. anyways yeah forge that bitch up and then put a s/c pr spray on it. why break parts and ruin heads you can use. go have your heads p&pd and then get some bigger cams if your not wanting to forge it yet

p&p is in the picture and thinking about the 102600 cams from comp. tearing the car down as soon as my project truck trans get fixed. got a saleen body kit for it and pulling the 3.55s out to try 3.73. the car is capable of 12's just got to get used to the slicks. my video is under mp2 project cars in the multimedia section. my fastest time is 13.22 om m/t streets but get nervous at the 1000ft when the car wants to wonder.

those are the same cams that i am running. they have a very nice lope to them and the power comes on hard at around 3200-3400 rpms. they sound mean as hell.

whats wrong with the stock block? the only thing i can do to it would be forge bottem end? ive always built pushrod motors and now im trying to do homework on the mod motor. im shooting for around 600rwhp, i know i can get there but tryin to figure out the block work.

there is nothing wrong with the stock block at all. it will handle more power than you or i am ever going to throw at it. they will handle over 1000 rwhp easily. a forged bottom end, with big heads and cams and a lot of boost should do the deal but doing it and making it still driveable is the other ?. it can be done but will take some homework with whats gonna work together really well

It's obviously going to be easier on a novice mech to go with a kit to stroke your motor, but,.....if you want to go the distance and get the most out of your stroker motor there is a guy in Billings Missouri that specializes in custom crankshafts, and strokers. I have seen some of his work and he can stroke a crank to any spec you want. Just tell him what your looking to do and he can do a custom grind for any application. The name of the shop is 'Blades Custom Cranks'. Just PM me if you want the contact info. He built me a 383 for my old Camaro that was untouchable.

not to sound like an a$$ but i am far from a novice! push rod motors is all ive ever built since i was kid working around my family. i build a lot of them for people around here from stock to (my fastest build) a high 10 bb. i have this mod and another one wanting work after the first of the year so i am tryin to figure what all is involved and any issues. i am in the process of opening my own shop but dont know much on the modular engines. hope i didnt offend you and of your guy is that good give me the link so i can see what he may be able to do to help me with theses builds. the last thing i want is just another kit off the shelf.

No offense taken man. It's hard to know what kind of skills some of these guys have on here. It sounds like you know your buisness, but if you have a very specific grind you want or have need a realy beefy, or a really light crank he can do just about anything you want. He builds everthing from pulling tractors to high end sports cars. I'll pm you his # and you can give him a call.

i really dont think you need anything exotic for your applications. a simple forged stroker crank from somewhere like eagle or dss, or livernopise, would suffice just fine and you wont break the bank by going with something custom. it would be way over kill

its not that i want anything exotic or complaining about something basic; just keeping an open mind. i was looking at a livernois kit but still tryin to do more homework before i just jump into something. got a N/X kit today, got a C&L CAI and MAF in my car also, didnt plan on the spray but for 375 and the only thing that i have to get is heater, plugs and purge it was worth it.
