So yeah, my friend Julian and I were driving around in my GT today with the top down (because our weather is still being retarded), and our other friend with the slowcus is playing around with the GT as if he doesn't know the GT can eats it face at any given moment. We go by this gas station and there is this black Trans Am there, and I'm like hmmm...cause its a really nice looking car, and I can't help but wonder where I'd stand against it. so I drive by and the guy getting into it happens to be an old friend from high school, so I'm like perfect. I go up and talk to him, and he says if I want we can race. There's an old road that goes down past this golf course, nobody can use it anymore, its just a straight, wide road, with nothing on either side but flat grass, alot of people race there because there's no traffic and if you go off the road you just spin into a field until you stop. So we line up, my friend starts us off, and I take him immediately off the line, I'm like fuck yeah, and then he flies past me like I stopped or something, I'm like what the hell, but I keep on it, and he finally beats me by about a car length. So I humbly go up and tell him that it was a nice day to have my ass handed to me and ask him why he was so fast...long story short (even though I've written a book), he has a 5.7 LS1 in it with some kind of torque converter, an intake, and exhaust...so I lost, but I'm extremely happy my stock GT held up so well against a non-stock LS1. So we shook hands and he told me to come back when I get more done to it and we'll go again. Just wanted to share

It's never good to get eaten up. My previous car was a '99 Camaro SS and it was VERY fast! I don't think I'll race any 4th Gen. Camaro's or T/A's until I am at least pushing 325 horses and have better gears. I actually got smoked on Thanksgiving day by a Yellow '06 Roush Mustang coming off the Bourne Bridge on my way home. I hadn't really gotten on it yet in my new ride so I figured "What the hell?"

To get 325rwhp you are going to ahve one hell of a built 4.6 2V...Or a poweradder (turbo, supercharger or nitrous...Which would be mroe like 400rwhp)...

I had a 99' Z28 LS1 car before I got my Mustang. I can tell you that if you don't have some serious mods you will get raped every time you pull up beside one of those cars. I love the way my Mustang gets out of the hole, but the LS1's will murder you midrange. Don't even consider trying to outrun one top-end with a stock GT.
However, I have learned an interesting fact lately. The other day, one of the guys at work rolled in with an LT1 car. He was talking some serious shit to me about how he was going to blow my doors off. Well, after work we got it on. To my suprise, I waxxed his ass out of the hole, and when we raced from a 50 MPH roll, I pulled about 5 lengths on him up to 145. He was absolutely speechless. Man, that felt good.......

that guy prob doesnt know how to drive. my first car was a 95 Z-28... it was way faster then my stang is now. I love both of them, i dont get caught up in the rivalry, but box stock the F-body tools on the stang.

Yeah, I'm not exactly stock. and this guy doesn't have anything done to his LT1. Also, you have to keep in mind that you are running a non-PI motor in your GT.

yes the96 to 98 stangs we slow i think those cars were really slow with all the respect to the mustangs but i eat them alive when they want to race my 03 gt

Don't feel bad... I thought I'd be cool racing this C6 Vette on I-95. I have a 2003 Mach1. So we started out, no contest that Vette blew me apart. Last I saw he was headed for Orlando. Never saw him again. Hell if your going to get beat might as well be a Vette.

to make a run on an LS car is a chance that all 4.6 owners know that it is a hard battle. so far i havent lost to a LS1 (3 corvettes included) car from anywhere to 100 yet but my days are numbered. ive even pulled a LS6 firehawk but a LS2 swaped camaro caught me at a little over 100. thats cool to be that close in an 4.6 with notta damn thing done

I would have to say you were lucky then, prolly all those people you raced couldn't drive! My '99 SS torched every Mustang I ever went up against and that includes 2 Cobra's and a smattering of MACH 1's. The ONLY car I ever lost a race to was a '03 Z06 'Vette and that thing was just plain nasty! Don't get me wrong, I love my 'stang, but it has a long way to go until I will feel good going up against a 4th Gen F-body or Vette. BTW, the 'stangs were quicker off the line some of the time, but by 45mph we were door to door and it was all down hill for them after that.

The LS1's will kill a stock 4.6...Hell a full bolt-on 4.6 will give them a run for their money but in the end the LS1+ will end up winning...We can get them off the line becuase their rear-ends suck balls and they dont make alot of power off the line...But after 45-50 they dominate...

if you hung with even a bone stock ls1 car in your stock gt, that ,eans hes doing something wrong. he shouldnt have eatin you up and pu;led and pulled like there was no tomorrow the ls1 cars are badass

the guys your racing are shitty drivers. not saying your car is slow but they shouldbe raping you like no other. especially an ls6 car whether its the caddy , a maro, or a vette. its gonna wa your ass if he can drive.
