Here are some numbers I ran to make me happy, I put mine back in.

BTW--it is there to straighten the flow of air into the MAF and make the MAF's sampled reading of the air flow more accurate...

There should be no screen, The only thing that I can think of is that same thing I run into, he specs out a 04 gt.

In my 04 i find that some of the parts I order must be 05 to fit.

Maybe he has the 05 style air screen, if that is the case, do NOT remove it.

nothing from an 05 should fit your car. They came stock with the screen in the maf. When lots of people put a CAI in, they remove the screen. Mine no longer has the screen since the previous owner took it out

You're talking about if you take off the air filter, look in the tube and it looks like screen porch wire?

Idk but I'm leaving mine in...I keep pulling out little blades of grass, etc every 3-4 months.

I am sorry to tell you that my car has required 05 parts even tho it is an 04.

List so far that required 05 parts to fit....

1) rear shocks
2) radio harness
3) brake disks (rear)

The rear axle assembly is totally different on a 05+. but they use the same style shocks. You can take any shock that has an eyelet and a stud and use it in your car. the only thing that makes them different are the strokes. radios used pretty much the same harness from 01 and up that had a mach system.
