18x9" & 18x10" Bullitts
Ok, I almost feel like an idiot for asking this, but I'm getting ready to put some black 18x9" (in the front) and 18x10" (in the rear) bullitt wheels on my 03 blue gt, and I ultimately just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to have any problems with them. For instance, will I simply be able to buy them, get them put on, and then get on the road? or will I have to purchase some type of kit or something to adjust them to work on my car; etc.?
Thanks guys.... |

you shouldnt have any problems. i would run a bigger tire in the rear like a 275 or 285 but they can be pricy.

No problems at all. I run 295s out back and 275s up front.

the only thing with 275s in the front is they rub your sway bar when you turn all the way. but you wouldnt even notice it. i run 275s on my car.

do you all mind if i ask why you would recommend going with a 275 over a 265? (the 275s are a bit pricey)
i really appreciate the feedback... |

Yup what he said, only rub issues are only from lock to lock, like coming out of a parallel parking spot, no biggie tho.

+1 265's will look stretched a bit IMO. And you will be fine I run 275 and 315 and they fit like a glove.

My buddy just put on black 18" saleens on his 03 mach. He's running 275 up front and 285 in the rear. IMO the 285s fit tight looks like a 305 would fit nicer

your 265 tire will be stretched a tad on a 10" rim.. and plus, itll look weird with a small tire on a fat rim, i say save up and get 285 or 295.. youll absolutely love the look... and up front i wouldnt go over 265..
sorry for the typos

I run 18x9 & 18x10 Bullitts on my 02 GT. My fronts are 265/35ZR18, and the rears are 285/35ZR18. I do not have a problem with rubbing (or its just not enough to notice). My fronts look great, but I do wish the rears where wider. They have a stretched out look to them.

the first number in the tire size is the tread width in mm then the second is the percentage multiplier to use of the width that gives you the sidewall height. Unless you want to look like a low rider with rims wider then your tires you should get enough tire to look flush with your rim.
1mm = 0.0393700787 inches so 245 series is 9.64 inches wide 265 series is 10.43 inches wide 275 series is 10.82 inches wide 315 series is 12.40 inches wide A 255/45x17 is a 10.039 inche wide tire with sidewall height of 4.52inches to plus size without changing your speedo you increase the rim and decrease the ratio on the sidewall to keep the overall diameter the same. 255/40x18 is 10.039inches wide with a 4.02inch sidewall. Overall size doesn't change(lost 1/2 inch on each side of tire for total of 1 inch)! Stock is a 10" tire on an 8" rim and it looks nice and flush. Same width tire as Rim will look a tad stretched. More contact patch = more traction and sicker looking stance ![]() Pretty sure I got all that right. its been a while. Last edited by 02sonicGT; September 4th, 2008 at 11:41 AM. |

Put a 305/35-18 Nitto DR on there. 265 are too small. If not then a 285/40-18 is a good size.

energy... you can run a 325 on a 18x10 safely... but you'd have to roll the fenders. a 315 would fit perfect

I am not sure but I would think with a 325 you would rub the quad shock and possibly you exhaust?
