Auto to Manual

Does anyone have a list or a link to a list of whats needed to swap a Auto to Manual. I have a guy with a doner car but I'm not sure what I need and I want to make sure I get as much as possible before he sells the other parts. I have a late 01 and the doner is an 04. Thanks

the swap is pretty strait forward. me and doc just did one on his mach not too long ago.

list:
manual wiring harness
starter plate
tuned for manual or manual ecu
pedal assembly
shifter
slip yoke for stock driveshaft or a driveshaft from/for a manual
flywheel
flywheel bolts
clutch assembly
pressure plate bolts
clutch quad, cable, and firewall adjuster
shifter bezel
trans tunnel will have to be cut a little to make room for shifter
that what i can remember right off the top of my head.

Do you think I could just change the transmission type in my Diablo or are the ECU's different?

So I picked up everything except the ECU and wiring harness for $700 because the guy wanted to sell them with the motor. Anyone know where I can buy the harness other than the dealer? I can get the ECU for 150 locally and I've read that Diablo has a custom tune to disable PATS so I guess all thats left is the harness. Thanks for the help

I got my diablo tuned for the manual for $60 bucks. that would save you a about $100 over buying a new ECU. Just an FYI

Did you go through diablo or a local tuner? There are no Diablo tuners in my area.

Just the diablo. Put it in a box with a check for $60, put a list of my mods in there as well and they put me a tune on it.

just the trans harness. the auto and manual harness are diffrent. we used the wire harness for the manual to hook up to everything on the trans and the main plug from the auto.

Great. The trans has the wiring on it. It looks like my only issue is the ECU now. Hey thanks for all the help, you guys have saved me a ton of time and money for sure. I'm looking forward to the MT.

I hear installing the pedals is the hardest part of the job. I'm starting the swap on Thursday so I will let you know.

You will need to modify the plugs from the manual harness. On mine I had to cut off the plugs from my auto harness and splice them onto the manual harness. Also you will have to modify the hole in the floor for the manual to stick up in the console.

Here a thread from my swap you can look at. to kinda see what all we did.

Tranny swap update

Good info. Brian at Diablo sent me the tune file I needed so I'm ready to go. I was planning on getting a centerforce clutch but I'm not sure which one to get at my power level. What made you choose the spec?
