I have 4.30's in it at the current time. I am not sure if they are going to be too much or not with F/I. They would be hell a fun on the street I would think when I do go F/I. I have drag radials that will be going on shortly but I am not sure the 315 nittos can stick as much as I want them too with 450 rwhp with a 4.30 gears and a 3700 stall?

+1 hood looks great! as to the gears if your track is 1/4 mile dont have to worry about boost with converter they'll be to much now with stock motor. I have 4.10's & no converter yet (have 3500 but no time) & I shift at 5650 & go across at 5700 with a 26 in. tire, leaving just off idle. 3.73-3.90 is prob. about right imo.

Thanks...I love the hood! Yeah quarter mile runs are not what I am really building this car to be. I am looking for the 0 to 100 runs on the street. More like 30 to 70 punchs with a KB blower...torque hitting you like there is no tomorrow...lol. I am not building a stang to street race...when I was younger that was cool but now that I am older I want to be able to show off every now and then if you know what I mean?

Yep you are right...4.30 geared auto is not the best gear unless you run maybe a 28 inch tire...then you can gain some mph at the top...not much but there is some more room you can create by doing that.

Well to tell you the truth, I think it looks awesome! lol. I really like accents on the sides....makes it stand out by far and looks classy to.

One question, did the hood come matched to the color or did you have to get it painted? If you had to paint it, where did you go to get it done?

Thanks...you are right though the accents do set it off and some angles you get the "better look" so to say but I think it turned out well!!!

I had to have the cowl hood painted like that. At first I was going to just do solid sonic blue since you can't go wrong with that color...lol. It's such a beautiful color, I could live with it both ways. I had it done at a friend's dad's paint shop. If you were to read some of my earlier threads on the subject I was going to it just paint the part where it is now silver...white, but at the last moment the painter suggested this bright metallic silver and I'm glad I did it...white would have stood out too much and would have had to incorporate more white things on the car but silver isn't too out of place. There may be somethings I can do to highlight it even more so that it flows nice with the rest of the car but right now just taking suggestions and enjoying the new sight on my car

Yes...I sure will. Got somethings to take care of for the rest of the weekend but pics with my new rims, hood and overall look outside and inside the car will be taken. Just looking for a great day with plenty of sunshine to do it in

Thanks!! Yes I can see that but until the last second I still had my mine set on white stripes and while that would have been too much the bright metallic silver is kinda a happy medium to where it could get the props just the way it is with nothing else to accent it or the such.

I wanted the upper part of the cowl to stand out from the rest of the hood w/out painting the upper flat most part one color and I think I accomplished that part. With this new effect you create another area in the chain that you have to fix and by doing what I did now, I'm trying to accent it with the rest of the car is my goal down the road. My vacation is almost over so I won't be doing anything else to my car anytime soon. I am going to take much better pics with my new rims on and then you all can just throw any kind of suggestions you want at me?

Being different has it's advantages and disadvantages? But by no means was this a bomb...lol. I just have some "polishing" up to do and then like you said a differnet group of people will dig it much more. You are always going to have your naysayers and then you will have the ones who just love the effect that the stripes create regardless of whether or not they flow with the rest of the car.

What's important is that you love what you do to your own car...and I am very happy with it. Most people get kinda of consumed on what others think and get bummed when people say bad stuff about what they do to their car. I didn't think I would have a lot of people laugh at me for what I did but I was just curious as to how this would play out into the mustang community...and if I ever see another hood painted like mine...well that is nice to know that I had a good affect on someone else. Just like you hear people say there is always going to be someone with a nicer looking car than you and same goes for speed...always going to be a faster car and there will be ones that won't have a chance against your stang. The one thing that is neat when you do something like this...is you can have people say...man that looks pretty damn good...never seen that done before on a stang

Looks pretty good bro. It's cool to see something different. By the way, I have the 8in antenna from american muscle and it works great.

Thanks guys! I appreciate all your comments...I'm conusming all your thoughts and ideas and my car is an every changing project. Exterior mods will continue to develop to offset my hood...and I am really looking forwards to finally getting my torque converter installed by next year sometime hopefully by spring! I'll take pics of my converter and post it along with some other goodies that I'm putting into my stang :~)
