Cowl hood on my stang**updated**

Well, here is what it looks like so far. Just got it back home and took some quick shots. The sun was not really out when I snapped these but I think the silver stands out real well. I won't have more pictures till later in the weekend or next week sometime. I'm going to be busy this weekend doing other things so I may not get a chance to post them...but I'm sure the ones who have been tracking my progress will eagerly wait for them.

I am far from done in changing the exterior apperarance on my car. I still have to lower it. I am also thinking about a grill delete kit. I'm also wanting to get a shorter antenna for my car, which is the best size so that I still can get pretty good reception? Also anything else you guys or gals think might make my car stand apart from others would be nice too!!

I won't be doing anything more to my car this year but trying to get some good shots to put on my wallpaper for my personal and work computer. The next mods I will be working on starting next spring will be the installation of the 3700 stall torque converter...j-modded valvebody and huge tranny cooler to round it out w/my sct transmission tune. The guy even said I could drive to his shop and get it tuned live for free because it took him along time to get me my chit but for right now I got a mail order kinda tune. The guy who did my tune doesn't tune many 4.30 geared automatic stangs with that steep of a converter so the tune he sent me might be off but I will find out next year. I wouldn't mind taking a little road trip anyway to show off my pride and joy.

If you like what you see post it up!!! Even if you don't like it being honest is all I ask. I have yet to hear one bad thing about it but these are somewhat better pictures than what I had at the body shop and when I really take my time and get the right light on it should look even better than these. I'm gonna do the cobra bumper sometime also...but chit...I don't really want to spend anymore money right now...this mod bug I have is expensive as hell...but I think what I have and what I will be doing will suffice for now.

Thanks...I think I will be the only one driving around in my area with that specific two-tone set-up...so I'm sure it will get plenty of looks

Isn't it funny how people differ. I would prefer it without the stripes.

Grand total including the hood about $1300...but there was slight fit issue that most people would not notice...so I had them get it as perfect as I could and well it's not 100% but harder for me to tell anyway that it's out of alignment with the fenders. Lets just say the HO hood fit really nice...more so that I thought it would!!

Thanks to everyone so far who have taken the time to respond to my thread...I appreciate any input and I am thinking about doing some other things to the car to set off the silver in my hood. Just don't know yet. I have more mods I am working towards for the next year or so and maybe just maybe might put a 100 shot in it. Don't know how that might work with the stall I have in now because the stall was built around me being pretty much stock except for minor bolt-ons. I am def. going F/I in a few years...so that will be a lot of fun...this car is going to be one long project that each time will bring a smile to my face as I get to experience what it's like to take a stock car and make it a beast

You are right...not everyone is going to like it or as you say prefer it...I understand that...but I see that you respect my decision on doing it and taking a chance to make something look good that not too many people or hardly anyone would want to "go out on a limb to do". I am partial too it actually. I could live with it both ways...solid sonic blue or two-toned. Either way as you said yourself..."looks great". The body lines on the hood are pretty damn sexy and it's the perfect hood to show that with the different paint in my opinion. I don't regret doing it because I think it can be enhanced w/other things...just one more project I am adding to my list...lol

I have had mine over 8 years and a few different looks. Now I'm gong a little more minimalist. I use to have a lot of black accents.

I would be probably more like you if I was pushing that much power...pretty stout there man!! I mean I don't want to make the car look like it's going to run 10's but only runs 13's. I want the car someday to be pushing 400 to 500 rwhp...then when I get to experience a whole new side to what that much power feels like the side of me that wants the car to look great will not be top on the list. I want it to look like it can handle it's own without screaming that it's a ricer mentality car if you know what I mean...you know the huge and I mean huge body kits with airplane wings on them that say "hey I got 250 rwhp coming out this fart can...and you ain't seeing nothing but my bumper"...some cars out there are way to totally doll'd up if you know what I mean. That's fine for them but I just want to be able to run on the street and look slightly mean and sound even meaner with the blower whine
