Midpipe Gasket question

So I got my MAC o/r H and am going to install it. I was told NOT to use the gasket which came with the mid pipe as it is very thin and will not or may not seal properly causing an exhaust leak. I was told to use the ford gasket because it is a crush seal and it will not leak.

So I swing by Ford and pick one up. Costs 7 bucks. Figure good to go. I get home and lay the MAC gasket over the Ford gasket and see the MAC one is larger then the Ford one.....obviously, as the stock mid is 2.25 and the MAC is 2.5.

So here is my question.....if I go with the stock one, there will not be a nice flow of air through the passenger side pipe as there will be a little flap all the way around sticking into the pipe. If I go with the MAC gasket, I run the chance of a leak and having to pull it apart again to fix it. Of course I would use some lubricant on the gasket to make sure it is soft and pliable but not to sure it will hold up.

Which one should I use? Have you ever run into this and what did you do? If you used the MAC one, did it leak or did you have problems with it? Thanks!

alright man. I got my Mac H pipe and I was so excited to get the pipe that i didnt want to wait for ford to order the OEM Gasket. BIGGGG MISTAKE. So i put the stupid Shitty Mac Gasket on, and after 10 minutes of driving the Puttering began. I had already blown my gasket. After a couple of days driving around with my car sounding like Ass, i took the pipe off and Sure enough the Gasket was burned and had a million tiny holes in it. The OEM Gasket works like a Charm, no more leak. It is not too small for the Pipe. the Flow will be fine.

+1^ use the ford gasket unless you want to take it all apart again in a week to fix the leak

Hmm, well I was going to put the Ford one in anyways, but I wasnt sure about restriction with the flow. However, out of curiosity, did you guys just put the Mac one in dry or did you lube it with some grease or oil or something before?
