Performance chip

I talked with the guys at a reputable mustang shop about getting a speedcal or an SCT tuner to correct my speedometer after my 4.10s go in. The guys there said anymore they don't suggest either and to have them put in a chip. Any benefits of the chip over the tuner, obviously the speedcal is only to correct my speedometer. Any comments form you guys?

Could be them just wanting to get the work for themselves. Like selling you a chip, and tuning it on the dyno.

Then again, a dyno tune from someone who knows what they are doing is always going to be better than a do-it-yourself tuner.

i would suggest a xcal2 or diablo if you go with a tuner. a good dyno tune is the way to go, but if you get more done on the car later you need to go back and get it tuned again. a custom burnt chip is the same way but the fee is a one time deal. if you dont want to deal with all that the speedcal is what you want to stick with.

They are trying to get more money out of you...

An XCAL2 will do you perfectly fine...And I would not go to that shop again...

Thanks guys, that was my concern wit his advice that I would have to keep taking it back for a new tune. I think I will go with the XCAL II.
