Styling question, just for opinions!

Ok, so next month my car goes in for paint. It's currently white and they are sanding down the clear and putting orange racing stripes all the way from under the front to under the back. To include the trunk and under the hood. They are gonna be about a foot and a half wide. But that's not what I want the opinion on, because that's gonna happen, I fucking love orange!

I have a set of FR500's on the way, they are anthricite with the polished/chrome ring around the outside. I was thinking it might look kinda cool to get the inside of the wheel painted to match the stripes. I'm just a little worried that would push it toward "Ricestang" instead of just being unique. What do you guys think?

No bro, I like orange too but that would not be cool. The orange stripes will be enough. Keep it simple and it will look better.

Can paint the brake calipers to match the stripe. Wheels would look bad. Calipers would be a nice accent to the racing stripes though.

Ya know, I didn't think of that. That might look kinda cool. Good idea!

I was thinking that it would be a little too much orange with the wheels. Just kinda a fleeting thought. I saw a midnight blue Cobra with matching blue wheels and as cheesy as that sounds it actually looked really nice. But try as I might I can't really imagine what my car would look like with the orange wheels and stripe but I definately was thinking it would look off as hell with just a side profile.

I like the caliper painted orange idea. That would tie thing together without going over the top.

Ok, wheels are for sure out at this point. Like I said, a fleeting moment. But... should I do the two stripes or make one solid one the same width all the way down? Just ideas, I have a lot of time to think about this shit sitting in Iraq working 12's 7 days a week.

Two stripes FTMFW. And i agree...just paint the calipers...small accents like that look way better than obvious screaming huge ones.

Of course, if you wanna get crazy with the rims, you could always anodize or paint the lip for the rim :-D Works best with dark blues and reds normally though, orange would probably be pushing it. But orange stripes defintely ftw. and doing it right and having it under the hood and the trunk? props for good follow through.

two stripes!! Much like everyone else I agree that painting the calipers to match the stripe would look good. I painted mine and trust me, it really makes the wheels look good.

Crazy enough I only got quoted right at $1000 give or take a couple hundred for them to sand off the clear, lay the stripes and reclear it. That's including all through the hood and trunk. I was thinking more along the lines of $2000, but I'm not an autobody guy at all so I was definately pleased with the quote.

Just make sure it's quality work. Check some other cars that they've done ya know? Sometimes there's a reason why it's so cheap.

You would think so..but i find a lot of my best work comes when i'm completely smashed. mainly cause my best work means i'm doing work at all which is something i avoid when sober.

Anyway back on topic, if the quality of work is good then hurry up and get that thing in the booth cause you ain't the only guy on here who loves orange.

lol, I can definately agree to that. Oh how I wish I could drink a beer with alcohol in it right now........

It should be in next monthish or the month after. Just has to be done before the end of Dec, that's when I'm coming home for a couple weeks and I would like to have something to motivate me to finish up my year over here.
