vt cams

i am thinking about ordering some crower stage 2 4v n/a cams from vt engines. heard cams are a great way to get power out of our engines. i was wondering if i needed to order anything else with it or just take what they ship me to the local shop and have them install it. what do the stage 3 and 4 cams mean when its says "rough idle". are those better or worse for a stock cobra block.

stage 1&2 are for N/A motors off sear stock tune. stage 3&4 are for built and has to have a custom tune. VT and comp stage 1&2 are the ones everyone seems happiest with. stage 2 cams recommend springs but arent a have to, that is up to you. as far as installation that is up to you also who does it and what all yu want done.

i am putting the vt stage two in my car but i am going to do the springs stage one you can install without doing springs stage three or four you will have to build your engine to handle big cams like that so if you are looking for some more power still with stage one or two good luck bro

you need to have a tune anytime you change something internally in your car wether its a stage 1 or 2 cam. if you want a streetable car go with the 1 or 2 stage. the 3-4 will sound awsome but they are very rough and hard to tune for. the rough idle means they will have a huge lopeiness to them. do the spring anytime you change the cams

what are the springs for? and there is only one kind of comp spring so i'm guessing it would work with their stage 2 cams. so stage 2 cams and springs, anything else or is that all i need.

plus it says that i would have to get a new throttle body, mass air, injectors, exhaust and programming. i cant afford all of that. but i was already gonna get an sct livewire and the stage 1's said all u need is new programming so i think that will do it.

you woulnt need new injectors, tb, exhaust right now. a new maf would be nice for tuning reasons and a tb is just gonna help out but you dont have to do it. you ablsulty have to get a tune thouhg. not gonna run good without a custom tune

stock maf, stock injs, absolutely a proper custom tune, and maybe a better fuel pump, use a good cai, and the K&N works pretty well

Long tube headers are great for power gains, but a pain on the install and trans work

96-97 gets a walbro 255 pump, 98-01 gets a 255 focus pump

If it's an eaton car, then it's a different deal then

Labor can be from $500, for a shadetree to do it, to as much as $1200.00, professionally installed.
