MAC longtubes

whats your experience with them?

should i get them brand new for $340 with free shipping from mustang tuning or should i shell out the extra $400 for SLP's. mind you i have an auto and these are about the 2 companies that make them for an auto. i was thinking the MAC lt's with a bassani or BBK x-pipe but don't want some crappy flowing headers so i figured i would ask to those who have tested them. thanks!

I've got Mac Longtubes, they've been great other than the coating flakes off easily after a few months. Might be a rust concern for anyone living up north.

I wish I had some feedback for ya, but I've had the MAC longtubes and Prochamber w/cats on back order for six weeks now.
I think I've broken through finally though, I just had to find the prochamber from a different vendor, hopefully in the next two weeks I'll have two more mods to add to the list, and I'll have some feedback too

i have heard complaints about the HTS coating that MAC uses, but nothing bad about the ceramic coated headers

That's certainly good to hear.

that was a concern of mine. i want them to flow nice but i want them to last but my whole thing is i can get the headers and an x-pipe for around $500 as oppose to me getting SLP which is $700+ just for the headers.

even if you got the HTS coated headers you can always take them somewhere to get them recoated with a ceramic treatment?

long tubes suck, pain to install, and makes a clutch job take a week.

What you are saying sounds to me like, "When adding longtubes, it's a good idea to also add that clutch you've been looking into."

/scurries off to shop for a clutch...

well to install the long tubes you have two options, drop the k member or undo the motor mounts and jack the motor up about as high as you can, the passenger side is the worst, the driver side can stay in but the passenger has to come out for the tranny to come out, those trannys have the bellhousing as one piece and the tranny cant be removed without the bellhousing so its a pain, it took us about a week to do a clutch on a 99GT, out was fairly easy back in is the worst.
